The bigger issue is that he paid them to suppress their stories before the election. The Right went nuclear about Twitter not reporting on a laptop for a couple of days, claiming it would have changed the election outcome. If that's true, then Trump never would have been President in the first place.

The New York Young Republican Club has issued a statement responding to the indictment of President Donald Trump, saying, “This is Total War.”​

The club warned that the indictment has sent our nation “careening toward tyranny at an unprecedented pace.”

“Today, our nation careens toward tyranny at an unprecedented pace,” the statement began. “An impudent cabal of radical figures abandons all propriety in their dogged attacks on President Donald J. Trump. We have taken a decisive step away from the values that define our national character.”

The guy was FACTUALLY INCORRECT. Trump was indicted (trump said INDICATED in his truth social but it is indicted--surprisingly inaccurate word usage since he is a master of the big words like Person, woman, man, camera, TV and the smartest of all the persons). I'm just checking the inaccuracies on my thread. I personally value truth and accuracy.

Globalist pet? What kind of pet do I get to be--a lizard or a fish? Maybe a Toucan if this has a global flavor. A camel?

Seriously--what does that even mean? When do I get some of these benefits for somehow being connected to a shadowy global conspiracy...lolol. I actually agree this is just getting started.

It's a porn payment--it's not like stealing and keeping in your personal office desk confidential state secrets, maybe even nuclear defense details. This is just getting started...

Deep down I think you agree with me that political persecution on either side is not good moving forward. Let federal prosecutors try a federal crime. Don't let a state DA try and indict a former president or future political opponent. That is when it screams politics.

Let’s be completely clear, we have crossed the Rubicon. This is a dark day and a sinister step in our political landscape. The weaponization of prosecutorial power for targeted attacks on the opponents of the establishment is tyrannical. In free nations Prosecutors investigate crimes to find people, not investigate people to find crimes. These are the Orwellian tactics of corrupt immoral nations who have lost sight of the values of liberty. This is a far far worse attack on democracy than January 6. If you are celebrating this, you are how our Republic dies. To the prisons we send our dissenters and to the guillotine we send our opponents.

So, now we are worried about payments? Really?? How bout we look into payments made to the Biden’s from China, Russia, Ukraine?? Will an FBI swat team be coming to my house for posting this? But the Republicans are the racists?

A jury decided that there was enough evidence to indict. To answer your question, yes, it's ethical to investigate when there is a reasonable cause to believe a crime has been committed.
