I love that little wrinkle on the big run by Moulton.
Gill came in motion pre-snap, the play was always designed for Moulton to the left, but Gill became the backside blocker to take away the crash end from potentially chasing down KM from behind.
That has been such a point of consternation from Iowa fans about our zone blocking scheme, and that was a neat little change-up to give teams something to think about if they wanna get aggressive in backside pursuit.
No Gill wasn't needed that time, but it will most likely come in handy at some point.
