Never should have been hired. Should have learned our lesson about coaches with no ambition with the JP hire.
I hope that ten yrs from now we aren't suffering through a wojick-esque football program with a never ending string of .500 seasons.
I just don't understand the theory of our defense. Rush 3 and have a super soft zone. What's the avenue to success with that approach? You won't get pressure and they'll eventually find a seam in the zone (especially when nobody picks up their best WR when he moves from one zone to the next). It's a defense with no upside, which is why they convert every 3rd and long.
Wow, we scored 31 in first half & almost no positive posts. Glad I'm at game, we're having fun. We knew our D sucks, but scoring 31 on Va Tech is still fun to watch. Now a pick !!
I have been critical of Dane about not pulling the ball and running but tonight he has done that very well.
Dane running the read option the way it's supposed to be run. Why are we waiting to the bowl game to have Dane pull the ball? He's had tons of opportunity during the season to pull it. Whatever, offense has done well, Dane has missed a few throws but has played well. Defense just doesn't exist in Tulsa. Hasn't for many many years. Whatever we're paying the DC, fire him and give it to charity. The players can probably run the defense just as well themselves without a DC.
It's amazing how poorly coached and sloppy we are. So many stupid things. We're as focused and disciplined as a drunk intramural team.
That (discipline) has been my biggest issue with the coaching (defensive issues aside). We have too many delay of game penalties, personal fouls, etc.. It really stood out in the Navy game.
LOL. So true. Hopefully Monty gets it going next year with a full year experience as a HC under his belt.
The freshman center (Miller) has been called for pre snap ball movement in almost every game this season...cannot seem do get the nervouse twitch corrected.
