Impressed with Jeremy Hecklinski

I know he hasn’t done much with limited time to play but you can already tell he’s got some super Quicks …. He looked he was shot out of a cannon when he scored the TD… not sure how tall he is maybe like 5’11 or so I thought I heard from the CBS crew but regardless… Drew Tate wasn’t a giant probably the same size? I am looking forward to seeing him under center as we need a mobile QB… moving forward me thinks. Not sure about his arm and how accurate he is but his HS stats were pretty solid

Don't know if he has the same skills or not yet, but looked up close to me like a Drew Brees sized QB and similar build.

We should have seen a lot more of Hecklinski in the Minnesota game, but as the OP says, based on the extremely limited information available, Heck looks like he has the potential to be an outstanding QB. He reminded me of Brendan Sullivan on that touchdown run, a play that had three options: run it himself, pass it, or pitch it. He made a great fake pitch and kept it to score easily. He's quicker and faster than MG, and about 40-50 pounds lighter. I like quick and fast. Had he played vs. Indiana instead of Brown when MG went out . . .

Anyway, yes, the young man could be an outstanding Iowa QB.

Lack of major offers have to be due his size. 5ft11 / 6ft HS QBs who weigh 170lbs aren’t going to be targeted by major programs. He did win some POY awards in Georgia -not a small feat. Looks like Wake was willing to give him a chance.

The only thing that matters now is that Tim Lester has done some homework and has determined that he can succeed at Iowa. Needs to gain weight, obviously.

I really wished he would have played at the end of the Indy game…
