Xavier over Providence...Friars might have to run the table now

Cuse dim hopes stayed alive as they snuck by Wake

Miss St probably stays on the last 4 in line with the win over Vandy

wrapping up the night

Arizona loses to UCLA...thats a bad loss at home but Zona has such good metrics its not going to be an issue, perhaps for seeding keeping them maybe at a 6

Arizona State topped USC in a thriller. I think ASU has move close to in the field with a win but the result was good in that USC is probably falling several pegs down near the last 4 in line where ASU is.

Gonzaga walloped St Marys. The Gaels hits comes in seeding further down the line.

BYU beat San Fran so perhaps gaining a little over St Marys

Utah State outlasted Boise State. I think the Aggies are probably last team out right now. Could make a run but cannot afford any slip ups the rest of the way.

What about Oregon St beating Oregon? You have to think the conference took a big hit to their NET rankings.

Wow..good catch. Didn't even see that one with all the exciting finishes around midnight. Yes its a hit on Oregon for sure and combined with the UCLA win over Zona not a good day for the pac 12 profile

I think ASU is the team to watch in the conference. Winners of 4 out of 5. Palm had them has a last 4 in yesterday. Have to think they they may replace Stanford or USC in the field as a 10 seed. Possible Rutgers opponent in round 1 as alot of these projections have Rutgers against a PAC 12 team.

AZ only fell to 11...that is fishy. Oregon though tumbled to 25, Stanford to 30 and USC to 50. ASU is now at 53. Colorado moving up to 16 quietly. I think they are looking at 5 bids...one of the 3 of ASU/USC/Stan will play their way out of the field

Cincy is tied for first now in AAC so projected as the winner, a loss though and Houston is in first, Cincy's profile is okay but has some warts so losing to UConn even though it may be up to a Q1 loss still isnt something good for them. Not sold on Wichita's resume so a loss at Houston would be important to keep them sketchy going forward.

OSU/Wisky...not sure on that one. I think I would go with Wisky because Id like to see them get into the top 30 net and make our win look better.

and Cincy goes down in OT to UConn and now falls out of first in the AAC..makes Houston the projected winner now, Cincy is around the bubble but not so sure they are in the field so that opens another spot right now.

Not much impactful today, mostly Big South and MEAC. The Big 12 is what to watch but it's not must-see.

Texas and TCU are both currently out of the field... Lunardi had Texas as his 8th team out and then they lost at home over the weekend to Texas Tech. They only really have three shots left at substantially improving their resume: tonight at home against Baylor, home for WVU, and at Texas Tech. Tonight's game is the biggest shot they have. So root for a Baylor win.

TCU has lost five straight and they're well out right now, but they have four more big games. They're clear underdogs tonight at Texas Tech but if they are going to get off the mat they'd have to win tonight.

Only other high-conference game tonight is FSU at Duke, and they'll both be in. Duke has been playing some shaky basketball lately. So far only SFA and Louisville have beaten them at home.

FSU will be in great shape tonight vs Duke who played an emotional game vs UNC and went to OT....and less than 48 hours before FSU defending them for 40 minutes. Tough spot for Duke, maybe the refs save them again tonight at home.

Wichita St getting that beatdown yesterday dropped them to 50 in the net. The quality wins are lacking and while they may still be in the field as of today they are likely headed out of the field soon

The AAC is trending down. Their 2nd, 3rd, and one tied for 4th place teams (Cincinnati, Tulsa, and SMU) did nothing in the OOC.

They probably end with 2 but they had potential for 4 and that that has faded dramatically

Texas lost to Baylor and at 14-10 with only a win at Purdue to their resume, I do not see it happening, they have 3 Q1 opportunities left, I think 2 are at home but its not going to happen for Longhorns. I actually was scratching my head as to why Jerry Palm and others have talked this team up to be just out...they have zero but the Purdue win.

Notre Dame at Virgina.....interesting that you think we root for ND thinking UVA is in?

Root for UVA because you should never root for ND....put an asterik and a footnote on this one

I was surprised by this, but here is how I am deciding who to root for:

I am going to the Torvik teamcast and rooting for the outcome that reduces the overall NCAA probability between the two teams.

So it thinks a Notre Dame win increases Notre Dame's chances by 17.8% and reduces Virginia's by 7.3%, a net gain of 10.5%

A Virginia win increases Virginia's chances by 0.5% and reduces Notre Dame's by 4.4%, a net loss of 3.9%

Virginia really losing hurts their ncaa chances. Sure it keeps Notre Dame alive but they will need way bigger wins. They don't have a resume

I dont know you could be using ncaa probability tools for ncaa selection process

The last time we had a thread like this was during the '03-'04 season (NIT Finals year) when @BKIn118 and Jellyman did a daily recap of impact games.

I have missed threads like this. And happy to realize I have been part of this community for that long.

Thank you guys for keeping us to speed on all this. What a great time to be a fan.

Only issue in my eyes is that it uses it's numbers to actually predict games.

Got a note from a friend the other day that had stumbled across one of my old game previews from the 2006 season...Pitt I believe. Reading it again was sort of surreal.

I took a lot of pride doing those, and spent many sleepless nights researching them back when the internet wasn't so metric friendly.

Thank you for remembering those good old days. Wish I still had the time to participate on that level.

Is there a better place to be than this board right now? The amount of posts and views are astounding, I think we peaked in the Waters years with posters and commentary and then slid down every year...plus twitter, facebook and all other kinds of stuff sort of took away attention from here but I think now this board is the place to be to talk and learn about RU basketball again. Just glanced at TOS and really not very much going on there. Its only going to get wilder from here

Virginia survives against ND by outscoring them 3-2 in OT. Final score 50-49.

Mississippi beats MSU. Tennessee beats Arkansas. St. Bonaventure wins. Dayton wins. Mostly good results tonight. LSU survived Missouri by 4. Not ideal for us for seeding or trying to return to the rankings.

The loss by Mississippi State was horrific..life support now is an overstatement

Tennessee alive by beating Arkansas as the Razorbacks are playing their way out of the field. Arky in the play in games for now

Virginia in for now and ended Notre Dames faint chances.

Syracuse done now after losing at home to NC State as Wolfpack keep longshot hopes alive

Dayton win over Rhody very good because it ensures they remain the last 4 in line and the only shot at another quality win will be a rematch at home with Dayton

Utah St wins at Colorado St to stay on track..still on the last 4 out line tho

St Bonnies continues tp push toward getting into the top 100
