i explained this to my brother the other night after the game who all of sudden thought we should keep Jo because we finally played hard and he is recruiting better. The thing is that if you aren't winning and your offense looks like crap then you aren't going to recruit well unless you are pulling an ole miss. to add to that it doesn't mean anything if you can't produce on the field with the players you recruit.

i never thought we would become like ole miss was the last 10 years where we are more interested in winning signing day than winning on the field because that's what this feels like "well at least we are recruiting better. just wait to these recruits get on the field."

Apathy will be fully set in.

my apathy has set in. Thats the least excited i have been for a football game on saturday. We stand zero chance of winning because we cant score points. I was on the Joe Mo train until Auburn and UT debacles. I have some other stuff i can do on the weekends in the fall.

Does this mean men's basketball attendance will see a bump??*

I'm not sure why any of you think he's getting fired. The only possible way is going 4-8 and that's not certain.

Well get ready b/c he's not going to get fired..

If we finish 5-7 that would mean he either gave Chad Morris his first SEC win or we lost at home to Ole Miss. Couldn't bring him back after that. Season tickets would be at a low, Apathy would be at a high.

He will be back. I'm sure AD do not make decisions on a week to week basis. I'm sure they do long range planning with slight tweaks along the way trying to create as much consistency as possible. I'm sure all you rich business owners on here don't run your business or your financial planning based on weekly fluctuations

He will be back next year unless he takes the Rutgers job. I do not agree with it but Cohen is not firing him this year. Not happening.

I said a month ago he wasn't going anywhere unless he walks away from us. Of course the typical geniuses said he could never find a better job than this. If you are a State fan he is your coach. I will pull for him until the day he leaves. I hope he gets this thing fixed. If we get a new coach I will support him like a fan

When the weekly fluctuations form a downward trend, you better believe it’s noticed and adjustments made.

I thought apathy had long since set in, but we had a damn near sellout last weekend for a game we had zero prayer of winning. Makes me wonder if the general fan base sentiment matches the same level of despair as the messageboards.

The only thing that’s changed during the last two weeks is that many of you are finally opening your eyes to what some of us have been deeply concerned about for the last 18 months. Red flags have existed since day 1, and the fires surrounding them are only burning brighter

The fluctuation that you speak about, however, is not week to week. It’s a year and a half long trend at this point. Also, for anyone that thinks it’s just message board heroes taking notice, ask yourself why our AD didn’t announce season ticket sales this year for the first time in recent history

A month ago 98% of us would not have envisioned 4-8 as a possibility. Maybe you still don't, and I'm not sure I think it's likely. I think everyone has agreed that 6-6 is not getting him fired. Most would admit that 5-7 probably will not either unless we are embarrassed in the egg bowl. But if you think about going 4-8 which would be 1-7 over the last 8 games, how can you confidently say he's not going anywhere? It's a possibility with the way we play on the road. I think that's where the "who's next?" crowd is coming from. We have about 6 weeks to see how it plays out.

And while 4-8 may not be the most likely outcome, it’s certainly ain’t off the table. We only have one gimmie left on the schedule, and I don’t have a ton of faith at this point that we’re going to be mentally and physically prepared for the toss ups

I remember all the posts that came out day one complaining about what a horrible hire this was and that failure was obvious. And we do have 6 weeks to see what happens. Then we will have a whole off season and next season too. He might wind up being a miserable failure. There are tons of issues this year and I'm sure he won't be getting canned at the end of the season unless he truly tanks it and it can't be blamed on anything but him. All the shot callers in this athletic department can see the problems that most of us do not see and they will pull the plug when its time

The record on the field and the repercussions financially

Think there will be a mutual parting of ways at the end of the year. Something that will save face for both parties, something under the guise of "family decision". Think he is genuinely a good guy and that makes Cohen's job / decision more difficult.

I’ve noticed a few posters are all “yiked up” over us going to NC State in 2020. It’s not like they’ve been or they are currently a powerhouse program.

I can agree with that statement. Rutgers ain't a bad choice for Joe. Its home, its B1G, it has been successful before, and it would be a raise. Honestly, if I was Joe I probly would take the easy out.

They get pretty loud with the wolf howl. and that will probably make us nervous. Joe couldn't motivate the team to beat a mediocre Tennessee team in Knoxville, and I doubt if he can motivate them to beat NC State in Raleigh.

I don't think Cohen is gonna fire Joe but I promise you he has revised his coaching candidates list and given it a lot of thought and a little research. I would love to see that list just to see what his thoughts are.

Also noticed that we have a bye week before Alabama but then it is, Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Missouri, and Kentucky in consecutive weeks.
