I'm going to bed and I am mentally exhausted of having to watch Mark Pope flop of the ground like a fish out of water. Somebody put this man out of his misery. What started as a dream for him has quickly turned into a nightmare that we are all watching. I'm tired of trying to get behind this guy and he simply cannot get any of these guys to come here no matter how much money, banner boys, open roster spots, Nike connections, etc. He simply cannot do it.

IT IS OVER for Pope at UK it is just a matter of when/if we hire a competent AD and the end of this upcoming season.

This is all on Mitch. Every single bit of it. Shitcan his stupid *** and don’t pay him a dime. And get Eli’s lazy good for nothing theiving, money grubbing *** out of Lexington too. As a UK alum I am sick over what our University has become.

Well “supposedly “ Eli hasn’t even been in Lexington much in the last year. Spends 90% of his time in Alabama.

I’m wondering what excuses we are going to be feed when we miss out on 2/3 or all of our visitors? Will be b forced to overpay for bench players again just to field a team? Wonder if Pope unballs himself and pens and inks a resignation letter

Yep. It’s painfully clear now that we didn’t overpay for role players last season because Pope and staff missed on their evaluations. We overpaid for role players because our first second and third choices — at every position — turned us down. And it appears to be happening all over again.

Not trying to be argumentative but imo the guys everyone claimed we overpaid for at the time from the portal were our best acquisitions in Mo and Zel.

It was the wasted money on 2 top 30 transfers, a bum of a freshman, and way too much to retain Brandon Garrison that most derailed our season imo

The issue was caused by Injuries & lackluster play by some players compounded by serious substitution problems & patterns - still can’t figure out the motivation for starting Jelly & then losing him on bench for 25 minutes a game.

No, the first two years were on Mitch. Pope knows he’s in over his head. This was when he needed a step aside everything going forward on Mark.. and the new athletic Director

I work swing shifts and midnights suck. Even worse when there's no positive news for UK basketball. Land some dudes or end this fiasco!

Eli is never here, ever. The BOT’s needs to be hammer fisted over this debacle. It’s one of the worst situations I’ve ever seen a major sports player be in with regards to its brass. This is worse than UT’s compliance and administration issues of the mid 2000,s through 10’s. It’s easily as bad. Nothing like **** should ever happen at UK. The day a guy like Pope was hired, Barnhart and the president should have been sat out and canned.

I'm grasping at straws here but is the JMI agreement the main concern for these recruits and their posse?
I've not heard any feedback about why players are not interested in UK from the Players.
Shouldn't we find out?

Not tired. I’ve checked out, emotionally that is. UK made the tournament last year which shocked the crap out of me after witnessing the early part of our season. Still evident that pope is in way over his head to get invested in this. A year 3 was always going to be a disaster, regardless of roster. The wheels have come off for pope, the crash is imminent, just how bad remains to be seen but has the makings of a big one.

I think him and Mark Pope together make a super awkward duo for young kids. Especially young black kids. Is what it is. You can tell Mark fox doesn't know how to have fun.
