Everyone just take it easy, just remember what certain posters have been telling us, Haarberg inspires this team. Also, he doesn’t make mistakes and turn the ball over. 🙄

After the first game I said HH needed to fix that sidearm throw. How many times does it need to bite the offense in the butt?

This play calling is atrocious so far too. How about we call plays to our strengths.

Dead honest.

What offense would you call to our strengths?

Obviously HH has zero ability to throw a forward pass against reasonable to decent B10 competition.

Our OL is middling at best, and nobody on our WR crew can get open, much less catch a pass if thrown their way.

So. You need to create offense with a 5* TE that should catch everything but short arms a bunch of throws and doesn't catch the all the others.

Maybe we try counters, or traps, or draws, or .... None of that goes for much either.

When you don't have talent, you don't have talent.

X's and O's get alot easier when you have some dudes. Who are our dudes on offense?

Zone read. Designed QB runs. Hopefully now PA bombs to Coleman? I agree we’re not good. We have to win ugly.

Exactly - Rhule said it himself - it’s a ball control offense. Don’t expect big plays very often and don’t expect a lot of points.

He believes it’s the best way to win and at this point - the complimentary football seems to be the answer for now.

I’m happy we are beating the teams on our level - let’s get Purdue next week and be 5-3!!!!!

I have no problem with that. But HH had 2 picks. We also fumbled 3 times. Recovered all 3 but damn. Take care of the fvcking ball!!

That’s B1G West football. We have to play that game to win games here and Rhule is spot on for doing so

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought they called more than a few zone reads today.

Agee about some more deep shots.
I like starting out the game running the ball and running relatively low risk plays. Let them get hit and settle into the game a bit before letting Haarberg make decisions in the passing game. Just seems like that’s where we are with current personnel.

Who is the answer then? It sure as hell isn't Sims or Purdy.
We haven’t seen Purdy in this offense. That said, Rhule has in practice. I’ll just say that I suspect Sims would be better now than he was at the start. Sideline reps help too.

would've been funny seeing purdy crowhop to try and get that ball to Coleman

still would've landed at about the 25

Purdy is not the answer. HH has now played enough to make more mistakes then Sims has. Difference is, our D has played well enough to win us these games despite our O. I think Sims would have performed about the same. Probably a wash right now.

Did we win? Can’t tell after reading this b!tchfest thread
No kidding. It wasn’t pretty but it was a W and we are 4-1 the last 5 games. It’s odd how pissed people are about a win.

We are down so many of our players and this would have broken us previous years - but it’s straight up next man up.

It speaks to the development of players happening behind the scenes. Rhule, the staff and players are doing it and it’s exciting to see. We have a coach putting us on the right path and I’m fired up. We’ve wanted this direction for years and people are pissed we aren’t a finished product. Craziness. Proud of the culture that’s being built and excited to see it develop in the coming years.

Hang in there. Rhule has said there is a big learning curve to his offense in his press conferences. He believes being multiple and complex with where they want to go but the first year may be ugly (he's never said that exactly but it's implied). Doesn't want to take short cuts. Thinks the 2nd year players will have no problem with with it. Defense has improved immediately but the offense will take a year or two.

Just stop. You don’t have to trash other players to support Heinrich.

As Bo liked to say. It’s a process.

Haarberg is the worst QB Nebraska has had in a long time. Terrible.
Stop being emotional. You think he is worse than Ryker Fyfe, Luke Mccaffery, Noah Vedral? Take the win and stop crying. It’s not what the coaches picture long term but for right here right now he’s the best we have.

Mmmm. Maybe Vedral or Fyfe.
