Of the greatest athletes in the world. First practice is Sunday evening. League play starts in December. This is a long time dream come true for a 40+ year old heavy drinker that likes to talk **** and compete.

My wife and I watched a little curling Monday night. I love all the yelling directions while the sweepers are sliding down the ice. It takes a lot of coordination between speed and sweep.

I honestly feel it's the sport I am most capable of reaching peak physical conditioning. I know a lot of guys my age that still play basketball, softball, swim, run marathons, and even compete in triathlons. Good for them, but 17 that.

Curling. I think with hard work and some training, I will be able to sweep the **** out of some ice without falling down. #FitnessGoals and look at 2026 Winter Olympics.

Two things come to mind. Put a nice slow spin on the stone and try not to bust your butt.

It's the back actually. Herniated the old L4 about 6 years ago. Been managing it with stretching until recently. Just finishing up a steroid cycle to see if I can get the inflammation under control for the time being. It's going to officially suck if I can't get it together and compete at 17ing curling because of back issues.

My surgery on L2, 3 & 4 worked out pretty good. I'm really happy that I went through it but it sucked the first 4 weeks after. Getting ready to start playing golf again this week. Can't wait to get back out on the course.

I'll pass. I don't need to give my wife another reason to yell at me. I give her plenty of reasons as it is.

What's the rule on touching the rock with the broom, & does that ever happen in competition?

Just looked at some of the team names from last year's league. This is my kind of crowd.

We looked at joining a learner's curling league this year, but are going to be out of pocket during a portion of the season and couldn't make it work.

Been wanting to try it out for awhile as well as a lawn bowling league in the summer.
