Staying with friends in Atlanta tonight, as I'm here on business. They care nothing about college basketball. They have been kind enough to let me watch a lot of basketball and we will watch the game tonight.

They invited a couple of friends over (which I was already apprehensive about because I usually watch games alone in silence). But one of the friends is an IU fan. They just think it's no big deal and will be entertaining.

What do I do? I don't have a car here, so I can't leave. It would be rude to leave and go to a bedroom and watch it on the laptop. But I'm going to have to watch this game in the presence of an Indiana fan. I'm dying inside.

When I was a young boy, we bought a little blonde cocker spaniel puppy - 6 pounds, long curly hair - he was adorable.

We brought him home, and I took him out to the yard to meet some of the neighbor dogs.

Well, the doberman from next door was out. Being the 9 year old genius that I was, I set down my new puppy right next to him.

Before I could react, the doberman had flipped my puppy over, lifted his hind leg, and taken a substantial leak all over his stomach.

From that day forward, my dog never even sneezed in the direction of the doberman.

I recommend following a similar protocol here.

No good can come of that situation. Take a cab to a UK friendly location. If they don't understand, they don't matter. If we win they will feel sorry for IU fan. If they win, they will want you to understand his joy.

Ok I'm the same way on watching UK bb games. Just me and my wife. Use to go to the neighbors but I think there not as serious about watching the game they want to drink and party but just saying I'm trying to hear everything and they are screaming. I like my UK bb game turn up LOUD and back it up a lot if we make a big play. Think about that if their not really bb fans are you going to be able to listen well without having to keep a conversation going with somebody. Etc.

This reminds me of WVU in 2010

My wife is a huge wVu fan. We watched the game from the hotel.

Most awkward two hours of my life. Lol

If it makes you feel any better, I usually have to watch UK games at work, surrounded by UL fans just praying for us to lose.

I just made an agreement with some people I work with who are IU grads wishing victory for the best team to win, as well as winner's humility.

Well it seems you are in a bad situation, don't make it worse. Just watch the game with the enemy and everyt ime you speak to him use his full name. This way he is as uncomfortable as you are and he'll be wondering about why your using his full name the entire time and won't have the nerve to talk trash.

If that doesn't work, just suddenly develop a twitch in your right eye every time he looks your way. He'll leave you alone then.

If you are on business, how do you not have a car? How were you going to get to your business functions during the week? Were you borrowing a car from the friends? Call a cab. Ask to borrow one of your friends car. Tell them your business colleagues are having a social event tonight to watch the games as a team building. Then go somewhere by yourself and watch the game.

Have Ky to the Core call, say he is your cousin Eddie, that his shi**er is full and he needs your help. Then go to BW3's or something.

Stop being a sissy. Watch the game with them. Enjoy the double digit win.

Scarf down as many beans as possible before the game then let 'er rip! Almost a guarantee you'll be watching the game alone and in peace

Are you the scariest person in the room by a significant margin ? If so make passive aggressive threats before the game , it will subdue them and likely make them go to another place . Afterwards just act real friendly to make up for it .

I thought you were going to say you were in Bloomington, IN...whew...just enjoy the game. The CATS should be OK.
