I have been a sports guy all my life. I listened to Jack Cristil when he started about 1953. What is happening in sports almost makes me want to cry. I'm really about to give it up. The food channel is less stressful.
I too have been a sports guy all my life. Right up until I tried to play softball at 48 years of age. My mind is still 12 though. And I love Msu sports. Been going to games since basketball was played in McCarthy. Since Felker was QB. Since Polk was a first year coach. This spring and summer has been miserable and it doesn't look like the fall will be any better.
But it will come back. Once upon a time I was in the military and had to leave the country for 7 months. No sports. Only thing I got was one radio broadcast of a notre dame football game and some news clippings. There are things more important than sports. I know that's blasphemy, but family and loved ones and health have to take precedence.
Kids running down the street with assault rifles, buildings burning, all of us at each other's throats over this politician or that one.
I hope we come together as a country. I don't mean I hope a leader steps up. I mean I hope we all find something to rally around and get to the business of helping each other cope.
I'm tired of being angry.
