I know I'm speaking out of pure anger right now but I am done with college basketball. The NCAA is the most corrupt organization to ever be established. The refs are beyond atrocious and double standards are held for different teams. (UNC, Duke) it's ******* pathetic.

Actually I applaud you for not turning on our coach or our team at your lowest point. Tonight was hard to take all around. I don't blame you a bit.

Tonight isn't the end of the story though.

I love Cal and this team, they have the pieces to be special. Nobody on the coaching market right now would come close to what Cal is doing. Throwing Cal away is how we wind up with another Billy Clyde.

Yeah, can't blame you. The product is terrible from the level of play to the awful officiating we see on a nightly basis. It's by far the worst "major" sport going right now and even calling it a major sport feels a bit wrong. I've been about as big a college basketball fan as you'll ever find for the last 20+ years of my life and even I'm disillusioned these days. Can't imagine how less passionate viewers/fans feel about the product if I can barely stomach it anymore.

I agree that what we've grown accustomed to is much better than the BCG years, but I'm not optimistic this team can be special. Not this year anyway.

Here's an idea. fire Barnhart and start playing the game behind the game. You can be a loser if you want... I want UK to play fire with fire

Jesus...... any free throws awarded would have been missed. Has we gotten lucky and seen them rattle in, we would play our typical matador defense as they shoot a layup to win

The better team won

I’ve watched a grand total of about one whole game worth of minutes this year, of our own games. There’s epic corruption in college basketball right now from the NCAA on down, I really don’t care anymore. Thought I would phase out slowly after all of the corruption last year but it has happened much faster that I expected. I tape games and look at the score but just delete without watching. I suspect I’ll eventually quit posting too, rekindling some old hobbies.

I know where you are coming from. It's bad enough that the visiting team shoots 13 more foul shots than you do, but, when you go in for the tie, and get hammered, with no whistle, there is just no excuse. It's getting really old.

Yes WTF was the ref looking at???

If Kansas would have played Florida at home with all the plays the exact same as Kentucky, KU wins by 10. That is the problem with college basketball.

The problem is that today, KU shoots 13 more foul shots than Baylor, who are the visitors. UF shoots 13 more foul shots and they ARE the visitors. And opposing fans have the gall to talk about home cooking in Rupp. And, you might point to the stat that UF drove the ball on us, and drew the fouls, but, the fact is, they shot 13 more 3's than we did, settling for outside shots. Argue that one.

You guys are arguably the greatest basketball program of all time(UNC,Duke,Kansas and UCLA) and consistently land five stars.

I don't know what you mean by being done. One and done?

All levity aside 99% of college basketball programs would switch places with you in college basketball. Get a grip, there isn't one unbeatable team this year. You are the lynchpins of the SEC and college basketball. Enjoy coach Cal because as long as you have him you have a legitimate shot at a N.C.

Never thought I would have to speak up about your program.

Look, the NCAA makes roughly 800 million a year in revenue. About 80 percent of that comes from TV/ media deals. When things dont look right, always follow the money.

Do you think with all this money involved, that all this is just left to chance? The majority of the nation follows Duke and UNC and they always seem to be involved in the highed rated games. Hell, I think Ks whatever number win it was is like the highest rated colllege bball game ever or some bs. The lovefest has been media created and driven. It benefits the NCAA for these teams to be successful. Why does UNC cheat for 20 yrs and get off scott free? $$ is why. Why does Duke get all the calls, get away with players taking cash from boosters, etc? Get the easiest paths in the tourney? $$ is why. NCAA is never going to cut their own throat. People will tune in to see these teams and coaches that the media has glorified for years. Its like a soap opera and theres good guys and bad guys. UK and Cal are the bad guy. Duke, UNC, and KU are the good guys right now. Just the way it is.

Blue Runner I believe you could be exactly right with just a few added exceptions,
The 800 million a year does not come close to the gambling money going under the tables every year during March Madness... I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't top to be a Billion dollar month of money laundering ..... "Thus the Madness"
I'm sure the NCAA & media are knee deep in it driving Ms. Daisy all the way to the bank.
Anytime you have this much money in ANYTHING it's going to attract syndicate corruption to the highest level, no exceptions...thus leaving the rest of the 98% of college teams chasing a dream they absolutely cannot and will not win. The proof is exactly what you stated with the UNC cheating scandal after 18 years. How can this be equitable and fair for the good of the game.....It Can't and the NCAA got their buy out from UNC tying the scandal up for 6 years and throwing millions of dollars at it until it finally goes away..... Incredible isn't it ???
Matt Jones had a question to the fans a few weeks ago wondering why Rupp was not filling up with UK fans....simple answer is the corruption blatantly being shoved in the face of the fans without recourse people are fed up with this behavior and finding other interests.
I'm 62 years old and been a UK fan all my life, but it's obviously clear what's going on with college sports to the point if I'm home I'll watch it, if not I'm ok with that too.
I love Cal as our coach and support him 100%, but he's just 1 person and cannot change the corruption that has taken hold at this level.
In the Wisconsin/Kentucky championship game a few years ago I believe UK got a phone call in the middle of the night telling Cal not to beat Wisconsin in the tournament game with his platoon squad that went 39-0 .....What were the odd KY loosing... I bet they paid monumental piles of money on the badgers winning. The odds are --- the game not winning or loosing anymore.
No way Kentucky losses that 10 out of 10 times..... That was my turning point
Money talks .... well you know the rest....
They have taken my beloved sport and tainted it with dirt & corruption.... :gun:

You think the death threats made against Higgins had anything to do with it?

This times infinity. Money talks. You think sports starts/celebs face the same charges as citizens if they get in trouble with the law? Not close. All because they have money. What is American government based on? The fighting and bickering where MONEY goes. Boxing/UFC matchups all about the money. Money controls everything if you want to admit it or not.
