I'm afraid Ashton has hit the wall. Again.

He struggled late in the year last year and seem like a different player the past 2 weeks or so . I think its mental, he's very good , has many talents , but his decision making with the ball is just not good right now . I'd like for Cal to set him a small amount . Let him decompress and watch and hopefully relax . He's a hot mess and needs a reset of some type .

Hasn't been good for 4 straight games now. His ability to finish at the rim has always been poor, but lately if he drives to the basket it's an automatic turnover.

Probably a dumb take but I think last year and this year he is focusing on the NBA and what his next steps may be... no reason to force things, make dumb turnovers, and is the king of passing after leaving the floor.. very confusing.

Or he just hits the wall and he is what he is..

Defense is lazy pickup ball defense. Gamble. Anticipate passing lanes. Half way hop around when you’re off ball or getting out on shooters and throwing a token hand up to “challenge”.

Offensively, he is trying to force things that aren’t there and trying to do too much. Taking some terrible forced shots too.

Stat hunting. That’s what it all comes down to rn.

He’s been a turnover machine lately .

Folks really tried to put him up there with Wall and Ulis a few weeks ago .

every announcer and Cal say he’s the best point in the country, this season I feel like I’m watching a different game

Can’t you even wait for the game to be over before you start this crap.

He has hit the wall but he will move past it . He was great in the 2nd half btw. But yes he has struggled lately but I much prefer him getting it out of the way now.

Can't hit a jumper and is a TO machine. I'd like to see him come off the bench. Maybe that will wake him up
He is great at the 15 footer . And hasn't been a TO machine this season except for a few games so those aren't the actual facts. He has had a bad stretch but put in a good 2nd half. No way he comes off the bench as he 3x the pg that maxey is . maxey is a better player but can't run the team as well compared to Hagans when he is on.

Dude did you watch the AU game ? He was HORRIBLE. He has bad in the first half today and really solid in the 2nd without a single TO .

I think he just needs some mental rest........hope JJ can give that going forward. Maybe we can get some breathers at home and rest our guards. Maybe play Allen.

idk man the first half today was god aweful and i’m his most outspoken fan on this board. when his to’s come on bs offensive fouls i usually defend him every time. today’s to’s were just turnovers. i think he is better than that usually.

He's been playing tight, it seems to me. But to say he's hit a wall? Nah, that's an exaggeration, in my opinion. He's had a couple tough games. But he will be fine.

that seems to happen to one or two players almost every year. I really think it happens from lack of true focus...
it usually perks up up in the elite eight round

Some good play for Hagans late today. Made a huge ISO layup and hit his freethrows. Also had some nice dimes today. He'll be fine, he may have hit a wall but I think he has it in him to break through it this season.

Just frustrated with I'm I guess . I posted this at half time . He had a really bad first half , but righted the ship in half 2 . We need him , going no where without him playing well so I hope he kinda gets back in the groove .

Like I said in the game thread, I put Hagans regression on Cal. A few weeks there he was promoting Hagans as the best PG in the Country and AH started a downhill slide. Cal did the same thing last year. He started pumping him up and AH regressed.

I'm thinking that AH can't handle that kind of pressure to perform like the best PG in the Country or he's getting to high on himself.

There's no need to put that kind of pressure on him. His play and numbers will make the point Cal is trying to put out there. Just let him play his game without pumping him up like that.

KP said a couple weeks back that NR was wanting the coaches to tell him how well he's doing. KP said we can't do that because we want to keep you hungry and keep you pushing yourself to get even better.

So why would the coach need to do that with AH? Keep him hungry and striving to get better. Don't pump him up and put pressure on him.
