Illinois v Neb

We should take notice on this game. We must focus every game and on every team. You cannot take any team in the BIG for granted or look ahead. Illinois was losing by 9 to Nebraska and still trailed 32-24 with only a few minutes left in the half. Now at the half Nebraska is ahead by one. WE better not take Northwestern for granted tomorrow.
I think its better Nebraska wins, so Nebraska can get near the 135 NET range to make @ Nebraska a Q2 game. Illinois can afford a loss in the NET without dropping much.
The new big kid for Nebraska Walker is a baller. I didn’t know they were missing a big through mid-January.
the kid from Iceland had about 8 In The first half. Don’t think he scored in the 2nd.
Illinois does not seem to want it..Yikes Cockburn cannot make free throws either. They definitely play good defense.
Nebraska has some talent. Walker has only played 4 games and played Cockburn tough. Nebraska will win a few games. They play pretty tough. McGowens beat us single handed last year when he was at Pittsburgh. None of our guys were able to guard him. So many Nebraska players have played at least two years at other schools. We CANNOT take any team for granted. This game went into overtime and Nebraska should have won. It amazes me that Illinois probably has two of the top 10 players in the country but they struggle so often. Cockburn is so big and he pushes so often and gets away with it.
Teddy Allen played a good game. Reminds me a little of JY. Really talented but can play out of control. I remember seeing him play as a frosh on a good WVU team.
Yes. Did you watch any of the game though? I was wondering why they weren’t getting blown out since returning from pause like Michigan State first did. You can watch 2 minutes and observe that Walker makes a difference. They don’t lose the non-conference games like Nevada with him in my opinion. It’s not as drastic as MJ vs no MJ for RU but it may be close. The kid matched Kofi rebound for rebound.
Kofi is not as polished as Myles on the defensive end, so it's not difficult to match up with Kofi. Kofi relies more on bullying smaller players around.
What I’m really trying to say is observable in the statistics. Nebraska outrebounded Wisconsin and went toe to toe with Illinois. Wisconsin isn’t a great rebounding team but lllinois is. Without Walker, they were one of the worst rebounding teams in the country.
Nebraska is now 0-9 in the BIG but Walker has only played 4 games. He was very good last night giving Cockburn a run for his money. Nebraska has 7 games scheduled at this point yet in the BIG but has 8 days between their game on Feb 20 until our game on Feb 28. That is a full week to get ready for us. I firmly believe they will win at least one game or maybe several. McGowens and Allen and Walker and Mayben (? spelling) and a few other guys have a lot of experience and have talent. Once again, we CANNOT take any team in the BIG for granted. I hope Nebraska adds at least one more game between Feb 20 and Feb 28.
You can see by their 4 most recent games how important of an addition Walker is. He only played 15 minutes in Minn and had 4 fouls. But it takes time to adjust to playing with a new guy in the rotation. How much better, I’m not sure, but Nebraska is better with this kid available.
