That's rough. I wonder if Polasek was getting contacted by a bunch of FBS programs and it caused a locker room distraction. Not to take anything away from Illinois St, but that NDSU team must have been sleepwalking for that game to even be close.

I watched part of this game and changed the channel after Illinois State threw their 5th int. Wish I hadn’t turned it off.

FCS football is so, so underrated. Not necessarily from a talent standpoint, but just enjoyable to watch the close games in the playoffs. Kids giving it all they’ve got and some very well coached teams.

I know a lot of people who are big FCS football fans, having given up on the sh*t-show that FBS football has been for quite some time, and now worse than ever. For the most part it is pure football with very little corruption. Being an Iowa guy, I will always be hooked on FBS football (as long as it exists), but I know my brother just loves following FCS football in general.

Gotta appreciate a bunch of guys playing the game because they want to be there, not because their pockets are stuffed full of money.

NDSU does pay some NIL money. The states of North Dakota and South Dakota kind of blew up FCS football by injecting a level of money into the rest of FCS struggles to keep up.
Numerous FCS programs shell out NIL cash. Even one here in little ol' Iowa.
