Lisle still listed in the ICE. Is that just because some schools haven't taken them off their schedule yet?

Given that Lisle canceled their season late in the game, if their opponents can’t find replacements they’ll get forfeit wins. The website probably needs to still list Lisle for dummy data purposes.

Hinsdale Central going out to West Aurora is a new matchup and an interesting game. WA was 9-0 last season but the Upstate 8 is a weaker conference. HC missed the playoffs at 4-5 but they go through a meat grinder in the West Surburban Silver and also play Naperville Central in non conference play. Their 4 wins were blowouts.

This game should tell you a lot about both teams and their respective conferences.

You are not wrong, Upstate 8 is a mirage and arguably weakest conference with 5A and up teams in the North minus CPS (which is the only conference U8 schools seem to beat in playoffs). Someone said they were outscored something like 280-50 in the playoffs last year, pretty telling. And coaches like GBS trying to run and hide from NAZ only to be stuck in that 6A gauntlet with NAZ this year is very ironic. I feel for those kids who are stuck there just to get their hopes up to be non factor in the playoffs. At least a few of them like WA are trying by scheduling tougher out of conference games to hopefully be playoff ready. My opinion is WA is the crown jewel of the U8 but not sure what that means.

Doesn't look like there will be that many co-ops this season (that is, unless IHSA hasn't updated their website)

Agree but also a ton of blowout wins coming voa the Southland with one exception

Early week matchups I like are MC at Archbishop Moeller (Someone had them ranked #1 in their respective states), Loyola at St Francis, Mt Carmel at Naz and Michigan Lumen Christi at Montini (Both teams State Champs last year and both teams 7x state champs). Also I think JCA is at Glenbard West.

Week 1 sleeper game

Brother Rice is playing Valparaiso

Valpo went on a nice little run at the end of last season and almost made it to the state game

BR is loaded with talent this year and did quite well in the transfer portal

we will learn a lot about BR with this game
