Here are mine:

- Start practicing and playing zone D over this holiday break, this team has great length and athleticism. Focus on getting 5-8 set plays for key players, mostly for cutters and shooters. I would have a serious sit down with Boston, Clarke and Mintz about looking for their shots, though within the rhythm of the team and look for their bigs inside. High probability I would bench Boston if he kept trying to get his over everyone else.

- Focus on getting the ball in the post more to Saar and Jackson in the right spots, Jackson is not as versatile as Saar, though he's capable with the right angles. I would also work Toppin in more, cutting and looking for lobs to the basket.

- Start the same five and rotate in Askew, Toppin, Allen and Ware, in that order. Brooks would be a no go if he's sitting out on his own accord, I would move on without him. If not, he would be right up at the top of the list in the rotation and likely would start over Jackson, he's the more versatile of the two and is a more capable scorer.

I would play the players that show me heart, the desire to win and play together. If that upsets the OAD guys, so what. Suck it up buttercup. I don’t care about your stat stuffing or your NBA draft position. UK pays my salary for me to win games not put players in the NBA draft. You don’t have to be a multi million dollar athlete to change the economic outlook of your family.

More of long term look at things...
1. I'd fill all 13 scholarships (sort of dumb to leave 2-3 open rides every year).
2. Recruit 1-2 more shooters a year....our problems consist mainly of the lane being clogged to death and we try to drive into it which is making talented kids look worse than they really are.
3. Recruit top kids for sure....but also sell the program and not a NBA-only pipeline...that would help immensely with #1 to get kids that want to be a UK.

1. Take down that NBA poster in the locker room with all the players who made a roster and wore the jersey for a day or so. Put up championship years instead, plus the handful of seniors we’ve had (Willis, Hawkins, it’d be a small poster). No NBA talk in the locker room.

2. Play the players based on performance and effort instead of recruiting ranking. Mintz at point, Boston can come off the bench until he improves. Aim to give everyone a fair shot in games and go with the hot hands, because no one has played well enough to secure playing time right now.

3. Press the ball, that actually I think wasn’t a bad idea. Need some philosophy on offense. Everyone has to move off ball, anyone caught ball watching can do it on the bench. No one on one hero ball. Get the ball inside, drive it and kick out to the open man. Need to find some 3 pt shooters to space the floor, give Allen a chance, Mintz can’t do it on his own.

1). Entire practices without a basketball
2). 5 passes before a shot or grab some bench
3). Get rid of the fa**oty haircuts & replace names on back of jerseys with EQUALITY

1) I would ask each player (other than the the fourth year guys if they will commit to come back next year .)Those that don’t would b subs and only play when the real team needed them not vice versa.
If the nba lottery picks want to leave let them

2) five passes before a shot

3 ) Build the offense around Sarr and Jackson (if he commits to stay )

I do believe if Cal would do these 3 things it could help:

Pack his bags
Book a flight
Leave tonight
I wonder if cal will tell the flight attendant he’s young when she asks him why he’s leaving for a brothel in thailand

One of Clarke and Boston on the bench to start the game. First bad pass, shot selection, or failure to hustle I'd bench their *** the rest of the half. Im tired of watching them give half effort.....only when on offense. Ive been trying to be patient, but I cannot stand to see Kevin Knox style laziness on defense and when rebounding.

1. Recruit basketball players and not athletes who don’t understand the game.
2. Take Clarke off the ball he is NOT a point guard
3.Play thru Mintz and Sarr everyone else should be complimentary pieces. Limit Boston’s minutes he is horrible.

What would Joe B do?
The best coaching job of Coach Hall's tenure at UK came during the 1984-85 season. The team was severely undermanned and outsized and as you've probably seen on the board, started out with a win then lost to Purdue, SMU, Indiana and UL, consecutively. However, as undermanned as that team was, he regrouped and made the offense focus around Kenny Walker. He also went to a more deliberate pace in games where Kentucky was at a huge disadvantage due to lack of size. The team only finished 18-13 overall, including two NCAAT wins, but after the 1-4 start they went 17-9 the rest of the way. For that team it was a big accomplishment. I don't see this happening with the current bunch.

Hard to argue with any of these points, as talented as BJ is, and for that matter, he is talented, though he's easily one of top three most selfish players Cal has recruited. He doesn't look like he could give to two flips about anyone else on the court unless he's in a position to where he has to give up the ball, he's destroying us from within...

Start off with guarding your opponent instead of the ball. Our guys watch the ball and make mistakes because of it.

How are the best teams we play going to score, if you deny them open shots....? We got to play better defense and offense will take care of itself.

Focus on getting easy baskets, even against tough defensive teams. Should be able to get them in foul trouble and they'll let up on being aggressive.

1- Wipe the slate clean. Tell the players that playing time is not conditioned on their potential. It’s based on their hustle, attitude, and current ability.

2-Address the fan base. Admit that wholesale changes are going to be made. Starting today. Everything is on the table. Do analysis on advanced matrixs, common denominators around today’s college game that leads to success.

3- Make changes in the coaching staff based on #2

1. Install a modern spacing and shooting based offense.
2.Mix up different defenses. Utilize basic man to man, zone. Press and trap to force the opponent into bad spots and create turnovers. Defense to offense.
3. Recruit based on skill, not athleticism. It’s good to get a few athletic guys that can defend and rebound but that shouldn’t be all you recruit.
4. Based off of #2, get enough of those guys to create depth that gives you the ability to play that type of defense.

Edit: I know it is supposed to be 3 changes but I feel like having depth is too important to keep off this list. These are all long term solutions that could help make UK into a consistent powerhouse again.

OP; hope you don't mind me asking what you posted but in a different form.
When I was coaching, we did this after every game; talk about the "Big 3"
The big 3 made us better each time we took the field the next time because the players took responsibility for what they said.
The Big 3:
What did we do in this game we need to stop doing?
What didn't we do in this game we start doing?
What did we do in this game we need to keep doing?

What you guys think; what would you answer?
