In the last two minutes of the game, if you don't get positive yardage the clock stops. That eliminates the kneeldown. I hate the kneeldown.

the new horse-collar rule is terrible. Mainly because it is not enforced uniformly.

And secondly, the new "can't hit a unprotected receiver if he misses the ball" rule. What a crock. Now db's have to decide in 1/8 of a second of the receiver held onto the ball before applying the hit. If they caught it, good tackle. If it slips through their fingers, 15 yard penalty. moronic.

And if I could vote on a third it would be to go back to the old rules of roughing the passer. Oh yeah, and the old rules for intentional grounding.

Why should an offense be rewarded by being allowed to move back 5 yards just to have room to punt. ....The defense should be able to say: We put you in this situation through our good play. Now, punt it from there or go for it.

If it's illegal for a defender to tackle someone using the facemask, it should also be illegal for the rb to grab the defenders facemask and almost rip it off. I know, I know. There is a rule for that - "illegal hands to face" or something. But we all know it rarely gets called. Early this week, there was a picture on the front page of the CL sports section of an Alabama RB with handfull of a Kentucky players helmet almost ripped off his head. There was no call on that play.

If the yardage can be penalized in full, then do it.

For example, 1st and goal from the 6. If a defense commits a 5-yard penalty, why should it benefit just because the ball happens to be close to the goal line? Put it on the 1, not the 3. The offense would be penalized in full. Why shouldn't the defense, if it's possible?

Only go to half-the-distance when you can no longer enforce the full penalty.

Personal foul penalties should always be 15 yards or down to the 1-yard line if they happen inside the 16. If they happen inside the 2, then go back to half the distance. I wouldn't complain if they adopted your suggestion either though.

any defensive penalty that can't have the full amount given should have the ball placed on the 1 yard line. Offsides from the 4? ball on the 1. Personal foul from the 14? Ball on the 1 yard line.

This has always frustrated me.... Eliminate offsetting penalties. If Team A commits 2 (or 3 or 4) fouls and Team B commits 1, why in the world should they offset? That makes zero sense to me. Penalize the difference.

I agree that tackling by horse collar should not be allowed. However, in the games I have watched, it has not been called consistently. Have the rule, but only call it IF it is obvious.

Also, go back to the 5 yard incidental face mask.

Drop the "defenseless player" rule...whatever it is called. It is football. Let them hit or put flags on their hips. I have seen far to many PF calls for helmet to helmet when the defender didn't lead with the helmet.

Go back to the 25 second clock rules. It seems like games are 2 hours of football and 1 hour of commercials now.</p>

If a QB throws a 60 yard beauty and a defensive back commits pass inteference, it should be more costly than a 15 yard penality, because if the DB would not have committed the penalty, more than likely a catch would have been made or a touchdown scored. In the end zone - 1 yard line

pass inside of 15 yards can remain a 15 yard penalty, or a spot foul and auto first down, some committee can fight that out. But this is truly a penalty that the one penalized can benefit.

The facemask penalty is around to prevent neck injuries. It is a good rule and should remain.

The horsecollar is just unnecessary, particularly the way I've seen it called. If you want to stop tackling someone from behind by the shoulder pads, ok. But I've seen it called where a defender simply pulled a player to the ground from the front or side by the shoulder pads in a nonviolent manner, and that's just dumb. The penalties being enforced on the defense are getting ridiculous.

The horsecollar rule was instituted because the ball carriers were tearing knee ligaments. To me that is a chance you take when playing the game. I coached several years and have seen plenty of injuries (especially knee injuries) and not one of those injuries was due to someone being horse collared.

i would love to see fair catch rule gone, any personal foul on tackling should be thrown out (with the exception of facemask), and finally the game would be much more interesting if they got rid of the pass interference rule. that would level out the playing field a lot more.

The facemask rule is to prevent neck injuries. The horsecollar rule is to prevent knee injuries and broken legs. I don't understand why people get upset about the horsecollar rule but are fine with the facemask rule.

But, I do agree that some officials don't know how to enforce the horsecollar rule, but then again some miss facemask calls.
