Ummm 5-8?

In fairness this team could easily be 9-4 or at least 8-5.

4 losses by 8 total pts
1 L by 7 at Auburn and that game was 1 possession with a minute left.

The only games that UK was not in this season at the 5 min mark of 2nd half are:

Richmond
North Carolina
Georgia Tech
Alabama

This team more than any under Cal is Rock Fight U.

I watched the first half of that game and man we looked really, really good early on. You could see the boat taking on a little water before halftime, and when I saw we coughed up the lead I never watched the second half. But let's say we somehow win that game. I think we definitely beat Notre Dame. Now we're 3-3 instead of 1-5 playing North Carolina. We led much of that game until the last 10 minutes. A little more confidence, especially from our bigs, and we win that game, too. We win that game, we beat Louisville. And who knows what we are in the SEC after that.

Just goes to show you how the dominoes start falling when you have a team of guys who don't know each other's games or what the coach is looking for. And now we're in a place where these guys are going to be looking out for their own interests because there's not a lot left to play for.

You're correct. Just don't bring that around here. Our fans aren't smart enough to see these things. They believe the talent coaches its self, and games are played on paper. A 1 pt loss is a 25 pt loss to most of these goons. When in all actuality a couple of decent breaks early on could have changed everything

What really hurts in this **** show is Sarr misses a putback dunk that could have sealed the deal on KU, but somehow he misses the dunk and we lose by 3. He misses a 12-15' jump shot from his spot against ND at the buzzer and it goes halfway down and we lose by 1. He gets the exact jumper same spot against U6 down 1 in the closing seconds and it goes halfway down again and misses and another 3 point loss. The other night someone else finally got in on the action or the curse depending on how you look at it and our PG goes to the line to shoot a one and one up 1. He makes them both we are up 3 and at worse going to OT. He misses and they score with 1 second on the clock and we lose by 1. That's 4 games lost by 8 points all at the very end. If just the luck of the draw, a bounce goes our way on half we would be 6-7 which is still horrible, but still alive for a Tourney bid. Especially if the 2 would have been KU and U6. But oh well, Candy and Nuts and all that.

Besides struggling badly they have been listed by the NCAA ranking system as the most unlucky team in the country using the metrics they use. I mean just 2 win 2 of all 4 very winnable games we need a putback dunk to go in and a PG to make 1 or both FTs. This team stinks, but they get no bounces.

My fear is that this team is getting "over-coached." Yes, that's what I fear and rip away if you must. We saw the same thing with Gillespie. I'm not comparing the coaches; it's just this team has reached panic time and I suspect getting over-coached.

We have crazy talent that is now second guessing every move. That in itself slows the offense to a crawl at times. Did that pass or shot "please the coaching staff?" Now combine that with the few games they have played together. Everyone is second guessing themselves. Definitely not showing 5-star swagger.

KY was unreal on D most of the first half of that game! Hard to imagine a team looked that good against a top team and is now 4-9.

Some like to point out the close losses. Cats had close wins against MSU and Vandy. Could just as easily be 2-11.

You can spin this s**t storm however you like, but 8-5 isn’t good enough at Kentucky either.

We were only down 2 with 6 minutes to go against UNC. That game was actually a lot closer than the final spread of 12. UNC outscored UK by 6 in the last 2 minutes.

Would be 5-8 instead of 4-9. Winning against Kansas wouldn't have helped the ball go in vs Notre Dame or Louisville in the final seconds and would not have helped us blowing the game at Georgia with 3 seconds left.

How different would this team be?

Here we go! IF we had, BUT WE DIDN'T! If I had hit the MEGA MILLION OR THE POWERBALL, but I didn't. That is just about like some of the post on here. Why do posters keep making excuses, and face reality. At the end of the game, it shows who won. It's called the FINAL SCORE! I haven's seen it change in all my years of watching basketball and football. Post like that, gets a lot of the Cal Suckers out.
No neutrality said it best in his post. He faces reality, not excuses. Notice, a Cal Sucker always comes out when you can spin the record to WHAT IF!

You guys have absolutely 0 reason to worry about my Jayhawks catching the wildcats in all time wins. We are terrible. I predict we are out of the top 25 in 2 weeks. Hard to watch this year. Good luck the rest of the season.

What is wrong with some of the posters on here? You would boo a wedding. I was just asking....if we don't blow that game, would it change the mentality of the team the rest of those games? I believe we'd be looking at a different team. If we had beat Notre Dame or North Carolina or Louisville, I don't think it would have changed much. But rebounding from the Richmond loss with a marquee win against Kansas would have given our bigs confidence because the half that I watched they were really good. Would it have helped us beat Georgia Tech? Probably not. But in this season of all seasons, where because of Covid and also because of the one-and-done crap, you run the risk of a team checking out on you once things go sideways. I believe that's what happened this year. Look at Sarr giving up that layup late in the Georgia game. Look at both those guys giving up the game-winning layup. Hell, foul the guy.

Over yelled at from the sidelines, yes.

Over coached, no way.
