You are correct. It is just football and it doesn’t mean anything to Mississippi State or the fans of said team, because we are so used to mediocrity, our pat answer is “It is JUST a game and means little in the greater picture.” Sooo, we will always be mediocre with an occasional run of 3 or 4 seasons will modest success.

But it means a whole heck of a lot to about 40 football programs out of the 130 FBS playing schools. I sure wish we were one of the 12-15 amongst those 40 programs, where what we have seen the past two weeks is completely unacceptable, and ultimatums are given by Big Money Donors. And don’t doubt that those athletics programs answer to their big money donors. Some are a little more lenient than others.
