1. I never was excited about the Solich hire.
I was really excited about the Callahan hire.
I was not excited about the Pelini hire.
I was not excited about the Riley hire.
The best thing that could have happened, way back when, would have been if Cally could have kept Bo as his DC. This combination could have worked out. But it was pretty obvious that Bo thought he was HC material so that never could have happened, Nebraska got Cosgroved and the rest is history. Later, Riley never had a chance with Bo's substandard (truthfully anti-Nebraska) recruiting. Also, he won't be around long enough ever to have his team. Bye, Felicia.
2. I am extremely excited about a Scott Frost hire. He is what we need at this point in time but he is going to need at least 3 years before he can transform us into what we desire. Roster holes are one thing....the backwards culture/atmosphere surrounding the team will be his biggest challenge.
3. Everyone needs to pipe down about the worries that SF's wife won't want to come to live in Nebraska because she loves the weather in FL or loves Orlando or loves the south. Do you know what else women/wives love? A multi-million $$$ guaranteed contract that is bigger than their husband's current one that will set them up for life and allow them to live where ever the f@ck she wants for the rest of her life. If wives had so much say in what jobs their coach husbands took, there wouldn't be a well respected coach coaching further north than Dallas, TX. Hell, Arizona St, Arizona, San Diego St and Miami would be in the national championship playoffs every year. I bet you that if the University of Maine would offer SF $40 million dollars that his wife would start knitting a pair of raccoon skin socks for that little baby of theirs.
4. I find it HILARIOUS that a guy from Alabama tweeted about SF becoming the coach so enlightened minds rushed to check his credentials to confirm that he was in fact a credible journalist. Once confirmed people seemed to trust his tweet. I guess trusting journalists only extends to your college football team in Nebraska but not about much more important issues. (insert Kermit the frog sipping tea meme and "but that's none of my business" quote)
