Where would that rank on your all time list of recruiting disappointments?

We, myself included are really getting our hopes up that we're going to get Cade Cunningham. If we don't sign him. This would be my biggest recruiting disappointment since UK lost out on 7'4" Ralph Sampson high school class of 1979. We talk about super teams like our 2012 & 2015 & potentially our 2020-21 teams. But if UK would have signed Sampson & his heart wanted Kentucky but the governor of Virginia & others pressured him into signing with UVA. Imagine what our 1979-80 starting 5 would have been with Sampson.
Fred Cowan - 6'9
Sam Bowie - 7'1
Ralph Sampson - 7'4
Dwight Anderson - 6'3
Kyle Macy - 6'3
Plus an incredibly deep bench. Probably our greatest team ever!!!!!!

Honestly Wiseman was much more disappointing since he chose to follow his unproven AAU coach when he was a lock to us. Cade was not even close to being a lock.

Nice post. As an old timer I will always think the 2 biggest recruiting misses in UK history were Wes Unseld and Sampson. Probably cost us 5 titles.

It's not a disappointment our class is already stacked without him and he have a guard singed already coming in that is better than Cade Cunningham...TERRANCE CLARKE! Besides I'm already at the point where I'm over the Cade Cunningham look at me show/drama.

I don't view it as a disappointment at all.

We rank what 1 or 2 every year Cal has been here?

We'll already have a great class and not getting Cade doesn't mean we won't get others either to add to this already outstanding class lol

Our class is already better than Dukes regardless...don't care what the rankings say. Clarke and Boston alone are lightyears better than anyone they've signed...if Askew reclassifies it will be an official UK blowout rankings wise

It will rank up there on Cal's personal disappointment list I'm sure.

Apparently he's worked harder to land this kid than any other recruit in recent memory.

Not disappointed one bit. I have a feeling if Cade committed to UK that’s one to many egos to keep in check. If Cal can keep the guys now that are committed and adds one more PF/C then it’s all good.

Would be far more disappointed if all the grief being heaped to Dave Kersey caused him to stop posting what he hears.
Ya we want dave posting. He legit and smart. Keep it coming. Who cares if u miss 1 or 2. You get most right.

Depends on how next year’s team plays and whether they were a stud away (Cade) from being able to win a title. If Cade turns out not to be a missing piece then no biggie.

We’re good Dave said so
Your act is played out. I’m not surprised at all by who liked your post. All you need is jesuscal, and calsthebomb and you have the Mount Rushmore of rafters finest. Dave is passing along what he hears at the time. Don’t hate him for that. He doesn’t pretend to be an insider.

As for the loss of Cunningham, I can accept it since I never expected to land him to begin with

Before 2 weeks ago, I thought Kentucky had very little chance at all. And on the flip side, Askew would be a heck of a consolation prize if we still miss. Therefore Cade probably wouldn’t be in my top 10 disappointments. Maybe 15-20 or so.

On the flip side, if he does end up at Kentucky, I’d put it as one of my top 3 surprises.

Slight disappointment - but an Askew reclass would ease most of the disappointment. Askew's demeanor and his shooting has me very excited for him to be a Wildcat

Other ones.
James Wiseman- rim protection but excited about the possibility of small ball..
Zion - but he wouldn't have had the whistle here so I don't think he would have been as dominant. He would have gotten the Bam treatment and called for a foul every time he knocked someone off balance.
Mo Bamba - that team really needed his rim protection
Jarrett Allen- really liked him in the summer events... would have been a great rim protector and dive/lob option... also like his touch around the basket and his ability to finish.
Miles Bridges - thought he was the missing piece from making that team almost unbeatable ( fox, monk, bridges, bam)
Jaylen Brown - mainly for his athleticism and the dunks we would have seen
Wiggins- for same reasons as Jaylen Brown and I thought he was the next big can't miss NBA stud... he didn't turn out that way but is getting paid like one :)

NOt sure how serious he was about us... but Anthony Edwards... he is going to be a mini Zion this season when it comes to highlights. Markelle Fultz too... I remember there being some buzz about him and UK earlier in his recruitment.. imagine adding him (pre-mental shooting issues) to Fox,Monk backcourt?

Cal era only, and possibly puts UK over the top to a title:
1. Wiggins
2. Zion
3. Xavier Henry
4. Wiseman/ Blackshear
5. Ayton/ Bagley
6. Cade*/ Brown*
*= TBD
Obviously, I’d put Sampson #1 all-time.

It seems like you really just wanted to talk about Sampson and used this as a weird way to get there, because Cunningham wouldn't even be a top-10 Cal miss.

I will never get invested in a recruit to the point of being upset if they didn't come here.

I bought in to all the Wiggins hype a few years ago and was sure we were going to get him. Lol I said to myself then, never again.
