This is just like Comey hammering Hillary for security breaches...

Looking at Wolken's tweets that quote the COI, you would have thought that the NCAA was just going to hammer OM.

But that doesn't seem to be the case at all. OM got off incredibly light.

The NCAA should have just said “This case is symptomatic of an out-of-control culture that has existed for decades but we're not going to do anything about it.”

Then not recommending an indictment.

That is the one reason to keep Matt Luke around. The players seem to like him. If he can prevent as few as five transfers from leaving he'll probably keep UM in shape to make it back to bowl eligibility in 2019.

Yeahhhh, we'll see on this one...

signees by year:
2015 - 7 4*s
2016 - 3 5*s, 12 4*s
2017 - 2 4*s
Current class - 0 4*s so far
Next class - 0 4*s so far

At least 2 of the 2016 players listed are already on their way out. Several more will be pros after next year and several more probably leave.

Talent situation is going to be rough by two seasons from now unless they crank up early in recruiting.

I agree. Granted you didn't ask me for my opinion, but Ole Miss has done more harm to themselves (via the administration and desperate water carriers in the media) than these sanctions will. That and the dragging of the feet by the NCAA hurt us a lot. In the grand scheme of things, I am ecstatic over the sanctions as an Ole Miss fan. The bowl ban will be appealed, also. Not sure if it will do any good, but there's at least a small chance that gets removed.

This was a landmark case for all of college football, for a lot of reasons. And it was handled incredibly bad by all parties involved. The NCAA investigators, and more than that, by Ole Miss.

A reasonable rebel fan????!?

You are totally destroying my narrative about Ole Miss fans with your logical & reasoned response.

You can't count back scholarship sanctions towards previous undersigned classes. It has to be for the year specified
