Probably been discussed before but being State legacy, if Phillip Rivers had came to MSU, how good would he had been? How good would our teams had been under Jackie?

I think we offered or would have had a place as linebacker. Been too long to remember exactly

I don’t think we offered.

We offered and told him he would have a chance to compete as a a QB but we felt his best chances to play was at LB. Jim Thompkins was a run of all SEC LBs at the time and we were recruiting Fant as well in the next class. It's an interesting story but regardless who knows how it would have played out. Same over in Shreveport with the Booty boys

Edited I had no idea his dad played @ MSU - Phillip was a really really good high school QB from Alabama that wasn’t offered by Bama or Auburn. Several of those guys played well at MSU

Didn't we recruit Favre at a position other than QB?

Almost everyone in the SEC offered Rivers at LB or Safety. His high school center all through junior high and high school came to MSU and started at center.

Don't have a clue about Rice.

McNair was recruited by everyone at DB. Alcorn offered because his brother was their greatest QB ever. I worked with a guy who went on all the same visits and ended up playing WR with him at Alcorn. No big schools offered a chance at QB.

Keshawn didn't make his grades then by the time he was coming out of Juco, it was obvious that Moulds was our #1 WR.

AJ was apparently a "business decision". Also Mullen sucked at recruiting WRs.

What ever happened to his younger brother? Wasn't he on the LSU team for a while? Haven't heard him mentioned in a long time so I assume he's not in the NFL.

Steven Rivers played in a few games at Lsu in 2012, but transferred somewhere but never was drafted in nfl.
