If I were Coach Lemonis...

I've actually been a little frustrated that we haven't switch around the batting order some. I have loved the way Lemonis handles pitchers and pretty much everything else but don't understand why someone has a spot for life in the batting order. We have had numerous runs killed because we have gaps in the order where people just aren't hitting. And yes, Westburg is one of the main ones. Nothing against him, he just isn't hitting consistently. Mac is the exception, he gets out a lot but he is power swinging and that works out a fair amount as well.

Every coach has their thing, some get big into the "the pitcher deserves a chance to recover/close out" and I love that Lemonis doesn't buy into that, but he seems to think batting rotation should never change and I find that a little odd.

We are the only 6-0 team in the tournament. Baseball is a superstitious game. We all know this. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

3-4 years ago everyone was bitching about Cohen using 62 different lineups in 63 games.

Well, the problem is its hard to count on anyone consistently that you could put in the 2 hole. Rowdey was great in the regional but hasn't done much at all the last 4 to 5 games. In fact, during that stretch Westy probably has the better hitting numbers.

Problem with your thinking is, you never know when one hitter is going to get hot and when another is going to go cold. These streaks don't last forever. You keep switching up your lineup and you're just as likely to move a hitter up just when he's about to get cold or move him down just when he's about to get hot.

Changing a players spot in the order can affect his psyche. Move em up- added pressure. Move em down- not getting it done- added pressure. By the time you get to post season it’s best to have the lineup you are comfortable with and ride it.

I get where you’re coming from, but I like Rowdy where he is because it’s like having a leadoff hitter in both parts of your line up.

It’s so hard to predict who’s going to be hot and when because when you look up and down the lineup, pretty much every player has gone on a tear at some point this season. With that in mind, I think I’d let it ride
