We are set back a decade. And I was a supporter to start the year.
This getting to 6-6 is great and all but does Joe want to be here next year? That's the real question.
IF. Ole Miss loses tonight, they ain’t beating LSU, which means they will have at least 7 losses going into the Egg Bowl. He’s not getting to 6-6. Both UA-T and Mississippi are going to curb stomp us.

It's going to be tough to make a bowl next year as well. The offense will struggle in the passing game, and the defense may not be much better.
Yes, the even years are easier. But this isn't Mullen's offense anymore either.
Agreed, but its not Croom’s either. We’ll have a much easier time making a bowl next year than this year, and we’re still very much in the hunt for one this season. Ark / A&M / Mizzou / Auburn all at home. Win 3 of those 4, take the 3 NC patsies, then find one more between @UK, @OM, and @NC State and we are an easy 7-5. A lot of margin for error in that schedule, and also room to get an inside straight to 8-4 / 9-3.. Bottom line, if Joe wins on Thanksgiving, there is a very strong chance he’s still here through the end of 2021.
Yuck. A future only a mother could love.
Well, you’re welcome to start yelling Hotty Toddy any time. That future sounds way worse to me personally, but you do you. He loses that one, all bets are off. He wins and Rutgers comes calling (which I think is pretty unlikely at this point), thats another way out. But I don’t think him or anyone else would have trouble getting 6 or 7 wins with next year’s team and schedule, provided that the roster stays relatively intact (by that, I mean no QB transfers).
If Moorhead stays and still can’t get a bowl next year, obviously you fire him. The decision making criteria is pretty set in stone for every eventuality after Thanksgiving, if wins and stays. Him losing to OM would really disturb the masses, and I’m not sure which way it would shake out honestly.
No offense but if the “easy 7-5” you mention includes complete unpreparedness in blowout losses to Bama, LSU, Texas A&M, & Auburn, where we start the game with false start and delay of game penalties I think I’ll pass. Two more years of what we’ve seen the last 21 games sounds absolutely awful.
You can “pass” all you want to, I probably wouldn’t be all that excited about it either. That said, Mississippi State University is not ever going to fire a football coach following a winning season, barring a major character issue / scandal or NCAA situation. That’s just the facts.
Uh he’d be right.
