If Brown and Lyons "warned us"

Why are you not playing as many guys as possible?

I don't care if Lowe plays or Allison or Doege whatever. You should be getting guys as many snaps as possible.

It took this staff 7 weeks to figure out Leddie Brown is the best back and still refuse to give him touches.

Why do you assume as many guys as possible should play? If you do that, you inhibit the growth and experience of your starters by taking snaps away from them just to get everybody else in the game. Glad you're not the coach.

Brown and Lyons didn't need to warn us. It was already clear that 2019 was not going to be a good season for WVU.

I'll play.

First, the argument could be made we are. Sometimes out of necessity. Lots of freshmen on the two deep, lots of them on the field. Yesterday, there were several on the field at the same time and it showed. On both sides of the ball, we're seeing it every week. Good for the future, not good in the present.

QB is a different story. Something to think about - do you burn Doege's red shirt for the chance of getting 3 wins in the next four games to possibly get a sorry bowl? What if we win and become bowl eligible? Do you burn his red shirt then for a chance to win it?

Something else to think about - what does that do to Kendall? You would basically be starting back at square one next year. Would he, Allison, and/or Lowe all leave in the off season, each wanting a chance or a guarantee of being the starter somewhere else? If that happens, then you're left with basically a true freshman as the backup.

With regards to Leddie Brown, I think there is more to it than just the number of touches. With this line, Brown's strength, running between the tackles, is basically negated. Better to distribute the beatings on several than on just one. Still, he does do the best job running the ball of all our backs.

I concede that Leddie should clearly be the lead back. Not so sure how his injury and missed practice time affected his PT. Also, some coaches take the approach like Huggins where if you don't do the little things, you don't play no matter how good you are. So maybe pass protection, blocking, or selling a fake was lacking.

As for playing whoever .... I think its kind of a crappy thing to do to the seniors. It's not professional ball and for most this is the last football for the rest of their lives. It's one thing if the player opts out like Grier. But if the upperclassmen are there, college coaches owe it to them to field the best possible team and try to win games even if it is a futile gesture. Sacrificing their year to build for the future is not a luxury for college teams like it is for professionals unless you are underhanded. The coaches can still coach up the backups for the future. It's an amazing concept that somehow other mere mortal coaches have done while legendary coaches that only have time to coach can't seem to do both.

People continue to bring up players that Dana recruited.
He didn't leave the cupboard totally bare.
But Neal Brown had to come in and set what his expectations were for a program and some players didn't match up.

Truthfully think Neal Brown is looking to start young and bring these players along. Majority of these players are Dana's recruits.

Have to look at these games as when does WVU begin to turn the corner.
Like what was said after Baylor the schedule gets easier but all those teams are in the same position as WVU.

Need wins for bowl games.
I will have to think that if Neal Brown can win against TCU in Fort Worth it is a start.

Even if he loses to Kansas State and Tech that win over TCU and Gary Patterson sends a message.

You play to win, not gradually "develop". Players in college change alot year to year.
We saw how well "proving points" and "my way or the highway" worked out for the bb team under Huggins last year--that dinosaur philosophy only goes so far.

This staff has shown that their ability to evaluate is not very sound. After the first two games they completely re did the lineups, after evaluating the players for months.

and as correctly pointed out, it has taken them 7 games to figure out Leddie Brown is the best RB. How could this be in a rushing attack which is producing probably the worst numbers in the history of WVU rushing attacks, and some of the worst in all of major college football?

Kendall has struggled mightily with picks, but he hasn't allowed any of the other QBs much time to show what they can do.

So why did Holgorsen tank the end of the season each year if you play to win the games?

Kendall threw no picks versus OU. You take away the bad day for picks at Texas (4) and he has thrown 3 picks in 7 games. He had one game where throwing interceptions was bad. Everyone has had bad days at work. Grier threw 4 picks against Oklahoma State and 3 picks against Kansas with YOUR lord and savior Dana coaching.
