ICE Power Rankings

1) Wilmington - This is the week
2) Coal City - Licking their chops for a shot at the champ
3) Peotone - The Route 50 Rumble results say it all
4) Manteno - See above
5) Reed-Custer - RC looked bad against Wilmo, but that may not be a great gauge
6) Lisle - The close win against Streator gives me a bad feeling about this week
7) Herscher - Cemented into 7th from the head to head result
8) Streator - It is what it is

Lisle (4-4) @ Reed-Custer (3-5) - Like I said in the rankings, the close wins that Lisle had against Herscher and Streator compared to the comfortable wins that RC had against them, lead me to believe that RC has to be have the edge. I do think this one will be close and aside from the big showdown in CC this week, these may two of the more evenly matched teams in all of the ICE in any given week. Any other week I think this is GOTW. RC shows out at home one last guaranteed time. RC 28 Lisle 21

Herscher (1-7) @ Peotone (6-2) - Peotone flying high after last week. No chance it affects them hear though. Tone 53 Herscher 7

Manteno (5-3) @ Streator (1-7) - Manteno morale in the dumps after last week? Even if that's the case, it won't matter here. Manteno 36 Streator 10

Wilmington (8-0) - Coal City (7-1) - GOTW!!!!!! This game has been referenced countless times all year and it's finally time to see who the Champ of the ICE is. Wilmo has the undefeated season in tact and would like to keep the momentum going into the playoffs. CC is having a year and even people around hammerville are saying that this game is giving more worry than it has in years prior. I personally believe if there was any year within the last 5 that CC could beat the Cats, that this is it. I think it's going to be a physical grinding game by Wilmo offense and CC will be prepared for the same old song and dance. Honestly a coin flip in my opinion but I think Wilmo has had the Coaler's number for so long that Reents will pull it out. Wilmo 24 CC 17

I know Wilmington/CC will be close but has either team kicked a FG all season?

Wilmo has a decent XP kicker and over the years they usually are able to kick FGs out to about 40 yds, but I think this year they haven’t made any. Maybe they made 1.
They’ve had a couple years here and there where they made 50+ yd FGs, but I don’t think that’s on the table this season.

I was just asking since Wilmatucky's score prediction was 24-17

GOTW - I feel like if there was ever a year for Coal City to beat Wilmington this would be it, atleast coming into the season. I feel like with each week Wilmington is getting better and more seasoned for the post season run. I feel this is a one score game that could go either way but im taking the Cats at home 21-14

Lisle (4-4) @ Reed-Custer (3-5) - The second most watched game in the ICE this week. The Comets are at home with a chance to finish 4-5, which is cause for celebration and a Saturday parade in Braidwood. The Lions are on the road just hoping to stay as healthy as possible for the playoffs. I tip my cap to them for at least finishing the regular season! RC 35 Lisle 13.

Herscher (1-7) @ Peotone (6-2) - CLOCK

Manteno (5-3) @ Streator (1-7) - CLOCK

Wilmington (8-0) - Coal City (7-1) - GOTW!! Two blood rivals going head to head for all the marbles once again! No secrets left between these two great programs. Both teams do a great job on specials and rarely turn the ball over. Wilmington wants to run the ball, keep the Coaler O on the sideline, and burn clock. CC wants to spread everybody out and get the ball to Natyshok. Great player, Mr. Inside and Mr. Outside and probably their best receiver. He is especially dangerous catching passes out of the backfield!! The Wilmington D has their work cut out for them, but nobody does a better job at getting his defense ready to play than Jeff Reents. This game only happens one night a year but it's well worth the wait. Cats 27 CC 17.

Lisle vs. Reed-Custer - the Comets have been shellacked by the top tier of the conference as the Lions have as well. Not a lot of depth for either team but they are here because of our of conference wins which says something about the ICE. RC 34 Lisle 22

Herscher vs. Peotone - the Devils rolled Manteno last week and Herscher had the unfortunate experience of playing the Coalers. Peotone 56 Herscher 12

Manteno vs. Streator - the Panthers are licking their wounds after that pounding last week but the Bulldogs provide an opportunity to right the ship before playoffs. Manteno 45 Streator 18

Wilmington vs. Coal City - the Coalers have sliced through the conference like a hot knife in butter. The Wildcats have done the same but in less impressive fashion than Coal City. Both sides seem to think if there is year the tide turns in this rivalry, it's not this year. A great rivalry and yet another pick'em game but it's Wilmington until it isn't. Wilmington 28 Coal City 26.
