Though not likely I wouldn't count a 4-5 RC out of the playoffs just yet. Showing they currently have 32 playoff points and a few more will likely be added once everything from tonight is tallied up. They will likely have close to 42-45 playoff points after week 9, which could be enough depending on how many 4-5 teams are needed to complete the field and how many playoff points everyone has.
It's always a possibility but there are some big schools and privates that will end up with way more points than RC. Lack of a game week 9 really hurts their overall points.

Based on Massey, Peotone is favored over both Herscher and Manteno. Manteno is favored over Streator.

Next two weeks will be exciting.

RC will not be close to having enough playoff point at 4-5. They need to slay the Dragon and beat Wilmington.

Reed-Custer moves to 3-4 and will be eliminated from the playoffs with a loss next Friday to Wilmo.

Wilmo beat Streator 45-0.

CC was up big on Peotone.

Still awaiting a score from Manteno / GCMS. Last I heard, Manteno was winning.
Don't know what to make of RC season. I think the new coach has done a decent job. Have been competitive against (non CC & Wilmo tbd) conference. Defense has been solid.

Definitely an improvement over last year.

Last night was a heartbreaker. Looked like they got the tying score but then missed the XP with no time left in regulation. They also moved the ball down the field on their first two drives of the night and came away with no points on either drive.

Seems like on offense they move right down the field and instead of continuing to do what got you there a trick play gets called and totally kills the drive. Defense has definitely improved throughout the year but they seem to stall in the red zone on offense which obviously killed them in the herscher game.

You just described what "Braidwood it up" by coalertown means

That’s exactly what “Braidwooding it up” means. In the recent past they were in the mix to win a few state championships and couldn’t get past the quarters. Seems like when something is working, they decide to switch it up and go a different direction on offense. Defense is there, the offense needs an overhaul.

Their defense is improved and played pretty decent all year. Offensively I think that's where they "Braidwood" it up. They have a nice little power run game when they want to. Then Kline wants to be the smartest guy in the room and goes away from it. I do hope this new coach can get Braidwood better. Lord knows we need better football in this conference

Yeah IMO they were good enough to have beaten Byron by a couple scores both those times, but had a few things go against them, some things out of their control, but one of them was play calling that I thought got overly fancy at some points. Apparently many people are in agreement. Idk if they could’ve gotten past IC, but they definitely had a seriously talented roster across the board for 3A.

R-C had their chances in 2021 and 2022 via the best group of talent in school history. Of course their coaching staff blew it because that's what they do. You'll never have a program when you keep switching coaches and philosophies every few years.

Well everyone knows what the problem is in Braidwood, this year it’s been exposed weekly. Question is, do they pull the trigger and make a change? Some say yes, some say no. IMO if they want to get better, they need to make that big change or they will continue to be at the bottom of the pack.

Good start to turning it around would be to lose Kline and find a competent OC
