No GOTW, all these games (minus Wilmo) have an intrigue. Sneaky good week.
Streator (1-1) @ Braidwood (1-1) - Last week RC beat a bad Harvard team. Not only did they beat them, but they shut them out and almost clocked them. Now I could have swore that Harvard beat their opponent from 'Sconny week 1 and it was either entered in error or I read it wrong. Either way, Braidwood showed that they can get a win and that they did it in a dominating fashion. Streator on the other hand worries me. I thought they could have kept it close with Ottawa and boy was I wrong. I think that this game has significant meaning for two reasons. First, if four wins is the line for a playoff berth, the vomits (don't get mad, it's all in joking) need to have this one and then they also have to beat Herscher. So they know the hope is slim, but it's still possible. Streator is probably thinking that the playoffs is already gone just based on the fact that they didn't keep Lisle on the schedule and Dixon will mop the field with them. Next, if RC loses this game they will get last place in the conference (and Ditto for Streator. It's the toilet bowl and they are playing in the first week of conference play. Anyway, I think that RC's new coach is decent and that he will have them ready to roll. However I think that turnovers will kill either one of these teams so protecting the ball is huge. Give me Braidwood in a close score game, that is actually a more dominating than meets the eye. RC 24 Streator 14
Bloom Township (2-0) @ Coal City (1-1) - This game really has my interest. Bloom has beat two winless teams and I have never trusted a team from over by the southeast side of Chicago. However they are a huge school roughly 5x bigger than CC. There has to be some athletes on their team on both sides of the ball. Coal City played RB tough last week and has shown that they are primed for the big game environments. I think that a proven program and discipline as well as a home field advantage will put CC over the top and it won't necessarily be close. CC 35 Bloom 14
Herscher (1-1) - @ Manteno (2-0) - Manteno is the favorite in this one, but I think that Herscher is starting to come around. If it was two years ago when Manteno was still down I think it would be a much closer game, but I think Manteno is set to have another above average year. Both teams need this one. I would imagine that this win would secure a 5 win season for Herscher. Manteno actually has a tough fill in for Lisle so they need this one as well to guarantee their 5 wins. I like Manteno to continue their newfound winning ways and take it to the Tigers. Manteno 28 Herscher 7
Peotone (1-1) @ Wilmington (1-1) - I don't see Wilmo having a tough game until they play Coal City. Peotone shocked me by losing to Marengo, but it's not like they lost to bums. Marengo can be a good team from time to time. I think that Wilmington continues to be pissed off that they lost a close one to Morris and winning at Wilmo is almost a guarantee in conference play. Last week there was probably about 40 Harleys and I think that this week the cats rumble to victory on the ground just like a set of screaming eagle pipes. Wilmo 45 Peotone 13
