Get used to it. That’s usually what happens in the Catholic League.
SF has had first and goal and ultimately ended up beyond the 40 at least twice. I don't remember ever seeing that once.
This game is nuts! SF takes sack forcing longer FG and gets jt blocked, which gets returned almost for TD. Then IC fumbled back to SF. Sooooo many penalties this game, I think may be 20 flags tonite.

Both teams are talented and skilled, but wow was that ugly penalty wise. Wasn’t just SF, IC had a lot of penalties as well, but SF had some big ones and cost them more chances.

I hate seeing SF lose, but maybe this loss doesn't mean anything in the long run. Maybe it will wake SF up a bit.
To be fair 99.5% of SF fans were absolutely great, amazing fans. But excess at a HS football game is excess imo for the 1%. Just my perspective. I wish SF nothing but the best moving forward, and I enjoyed watching the talent on their team.
I am definitely not counting out SF in 4A. if anything they impressed me with how they moved the ball early on. I have no idea what was with all the penalties.. this was the most penalties I’ve ever seen in a game. Does SF usually have a lot of penalties or is this more an outlier?
I feel like the crew left much to be desired. Many missed calls and other times, very nitpicky calls. Going both ways. I know officiating is hard, but I think this crew needs refinement.
It hit SF's centers helmet. By IHSA rule that is a dead ball. You cannot advance it. I do not know how you can have a crew who gets that call wrong. Just ridiculous. Awful officiating all night. and the "Block in the back" called at the 1 yard line on the pick 6 that was 20 yards away from the play to go up 21-6 was terrible. SF needed that to wake up. They honestly moved the ball all night up and down the field, and got into the redzone and had a zillion penaltys. Hats off to IC. But SF gave them that game on a silver platter.
The go ahead touchdown in the 4th on the screen to #1 for SF was set up perfect. And the holding call was 20 yards behind the play. some very questionable calls. But, sometimes thats how the cookie crumbles. Onto the next.
We'll see in a few weeks. Stillman lost and IC won, so I think IC will be like a 3 seed and RC will be a 2. likely meet in the quarterfinals. Maybe IC is a 4 depending on where they send certain teams.
SF had 2 long TDs called back with penalties, and 3 times they were inside the 5 with 1st and goal and came up with nothing all three times…They quite simply didn’t deserve to win. Congrats to ICCP.
