I will never understand how SOS is calculated

Texas A&M(42 SOS) has played a grand total of 1 game against a ranked opponent- Tennessee. Texas A&M will be our 7th game against a ranked opponent. We(66 SOS) have 2 more Quadrant 1 and Quadrant 2 games, same amount of quadrant 3 games, and 2 less Quadrant 4 games(we are 7-0 in these and they are 7-2). How in the hell do they have a tougher schedule? Look at who they started their SEC schedule with, no wonder they are 13-2 in league play.

We got hosed on our SEC schedule.

Bc SOS has very little to do with rankings or quads.

The SOS is only as good as the algorithm that generates it. And those algorithms are far from perfect and can give outright misleading results. Same with computer rankings.

Then what the hell does it have to do with. We have obviously had the tougher schedule, it’s not even close
