I'm pulling for UL tonight against MSU. Since we are not playing MSU this year I want UL to win and then UK beat UL like a drum.

The only reason I would pull for UL is if Michigan State was a threat to us getting the 1 seed in the Louisville region. Since Chicago has a regional that would be their natural spot. Same with KU. So it'll likely be KU and Michigan State fighting it out for Chicago with the 'loser' going out West to Anaheim. Iowa State or Oklahoma also could enter this discussion for Chicago or out West.

UK will probably be pretty solid for the Louisville region if we don't drop any OOC games and go at least 14-4 in the SEC, which is very likely (I think we go 15-3 or 16-2 in conference). Vanderbilt could challenge for the spot in Louisville but they have a few more tough OOC games at Baylor and Purdue. If they get through those without losing, which will be tough, a 1 loss Vandy heading into the SEC will give us a run for our money for the SEC regular season and that spot in Louisville.

Maryland/Duke/UNC/Villanova will fight it out for the 1 seed in Philly.

I'm rooting for the student section to have some glorious ammo to throw at the UL players. Well not literally throw...... chants and images.

Technically speaking, I can see the relevance of such a wish or even from a big win from a betting stanpoint. In wish case you in it for the money! From the UK Fan in me, I cannot get there.....

Your fancard has been revoked. Do not under any circumstances attempt to use it. You will be denied.

Would be nice for the entire MSU dance team "dance" to some provocative song selections while the PA announcer calls them out by name and continually reminds everyone of the 3 drink minimum and to tip your waitresses. Once halftime is over, the dancers will be available for private shows. That would absolutely distract the dirty birds.

I initially threw up a little at the idea, but consider this. If Kansas, Iowa State, or Michigan State is the overall number 1 they go to the Chicago regional. However, if TWO of those finish ahead of us, the second would get the Louisville regional and we'd get shipped to Houston. A loss for Michigan State would be a positive for our post season assignment. Still not going to cheer for UL, but it's something to consider.

There's no regional in Houston. I hope we get shipped there though because we'll be in the Final 4 if that happens.

I don't see any teams being better than 28-3 or so. So you're going to have a lot of 4-6 loss teams (all those teams I listed I think will be in this range), fighting for 1 seeds.

I think 16-2 or 15-3 in the SEC even with a loss at Kansas would put us right in line to be good for the Louisville spot.

Yeah realized after I posted that it's the FF in Houston. But, still, two teams ahead of us with Chicago as their closest would push the second to Louisville. Yes, we only need to make sure we don't finish 3rd behind Big 10 and Big 12 champs, but a loss for contender would be, from a pragmatic position, a good thing for us.

I have read the OP's post four times and still don't understand his reasoning.
