He's not just a problem for opposing teams. He's a f&cking nightmare. Elite shooter who can drive & dish. I LOVE the fact that he values the ball and never turns it over. Smart, plays D, hell I could go on and on. What say you?

Agree completely. Anyone who thinks he is just a shooter is going to be proven wrong.

He’s got a little Steph Curry in him. And Reeves has that quick trigger. Doesn’t need much room. Those two will be lethal. Add in some respectable three point shooting from Wallace, Toppin, and possibly even Livingston. Can’t help but get excited

He should be. You are comparing a freshman to a senior. I always chuckle when people on here do this.

It's like comparing lamb to delk when delk got the benefit of 4 years. Or murray to delk.
Your right.. forgot that CJ is a senior. did he get a medical red shirt for last year?

Unless the rules have changed, one can't request a so called medical redshirt until he has used all of his regular eligibility. Is he a covid senior? If so, I dont' think he can apply for a medical until after next year.

This year we seem to have all the roles that Cal is usually missing.

Multiple real shooters ✅
Actual wing players ✅
A post game that’s beyond one-dimensional ✅

Glad to see this thread. I remember numerous summer threads where many were talking about him coming off the bench.

Of course we all know why.

CJ being possibly the second best player on the team is great, but it begs the question of if there was any chance of getting him healthy and in the lineup at the end of last year.

How in the world did Calipari not get this guy on the floor? From what I remember I thought he was theoretically available and healthy enough to play at some point in mid to late January.

My issue is that everytime he falls or takes a hard bump I hold my breath in fear it's an injury.
If it bother you don’t do it. This do mean what you think it do. Think positive do it do it now. You be better.

This is the point in this thread when the subject gets lost, and begins trending toward negative comments about Cal. The post have been good up to this point, and focused on CJ. Let’s see how this ends.

No, there was not any chance of him playing last year. Mid January? Are you nuts?

After one game, and the pre-seasons, who exceeded my expectations the most: Fredricks, I thought the local boy could have seen Allen minutes this year, but he's prolly headed for Tyler Herro importance and minutes, hope he can stay healthy..

That’s true, but with most of these guys there’s no way to make that apples to apples comparison because they’re never here for their junior and senior years (I’m talking about the freshman studs, like the other day when you said you can’t compare junior Liggins to freshman Livingston …).

You’re not wrong, but all we can do is compare the guys when they’re actually here.

What is really crazy is CJ and Oscar are basically the prefect college basketball players, in Cal’s world of one and dones it’s hard to believe we have these guys. He may have finally found the perfect formula for another title, the. That team next year has a chance to be an all timer!
