In a post early this week I said that we need to cover ND's 3 point shooters and not double down on the low post. I said that with the level of competition he played against Cliff should be able to handle the post one on one.
Jeez was I wrong!!!!
Cliff was eaten alive. Almost painful to watch.

Not Cliff so much as their dribble penetration.

Eh no one knows what would have happened. It’s easy to say that now, but if we played that way ND easily could have gone off from 3 and beat us by 15 for all we know.

The GP was the GP, have to just trust Pike made the right call.

We had multiple opportunities to win the game.

It’s Pikes philosophy so it isn’t going to change but I thought all year that Cliff doubles and switches way too much. I also think that’s why he seems to get tired in games. He’s working a lot harder on defense than other big men

Cliff was bad defensively. No disputing it. Eaten alive inside all game. The entire team was.

Last play Ron must take a step laterally and cut off the edge there with help to the inside. One false step give the angle and it was bye bye. Cliff couldn't block it needs to be ready for the board. The entire team needs to crash the asket for the board. Unlucky. Lots of luck for the Irish

Rutgers was up somewhere near 6-2 fouls and ND got maybe 8 straight fouls

Paul hesitated too long and Ron was coming to the ball off the ground and couldn't adjust to the pass. Call a freaking TO. Timeout there and inbound the ball.

Heartbroken. Devastated. Crushed. Soulless. Dead inside

Game was basically a coin flip. We ended up on the wrong side. Wish we defended Atkinson better but it wasn't Cliff's night. I would have preferred Caleb or Geo came for the ball when he posted up but we decided to play him 1-1 and he got the better of Cliff offensively. Still a lot to be proud of this season but damn it sucks to lose tonightz
