FWIW, it’s run by an Indian (I can’t l spell Indi Genius, I descend from colonizing dirt farmers) nonprofit organization, which is appropriate as I’m sure profit is an afterthought (even in Minneapolis)
Non-profit is a misnomer. It just means there's no owner who can take the profits as distributions. But EVERY charity or non-profit is in the business of making a profit. They would go bankrupt otherwise.

Indigena ? So indigenous persons ? Chippewa or Sioux ? Hopefully not the indigenous Somalis of Somalisota. I wonder if the chefs are birthing persons and the waiters are all non birthing persons? Just to throw off the colonial patriarchy
I personally don’t support the colonizer Sioux’s. Im .000001 Pawnee and I’ll never forgive them for what they did to my people

It’s indigenous, as in non forehead dot North American Indians.

You know, descended from those honored dead who cause all the misery in Mississippi State sports.

There are real non-profits that do not exist to increase profits (or margins). They only want to cover expenses for whatever mission. I don't think nonprofit is a misnomer just because they are trying to cover their costs with an appropriate margin.

But there are also lots of non-profits that are just profit making entities that disburse their profits to the "owners" in the form of salary and bonuses rather than as distributions or dividends or through the sell of ownership. Lots of non-profits out there where the CEO or whoever that just happened to found it are making $300k+ for running a non-profit that has very little staff and doesn't do a whole lot of business outside of moving money around.

I do understand that Pat my boy. I took accounting at the State University as well. The Clintons really like nonprofits.

I got a $40 ticket to the Twins/Cleveland game that includes unlimited concessions. I'll try to eat local food on Saturday.
The premium nacho stand on the third base side is good. Bar in left is great. Big souvenir shop is on the right field/1st base side. I like that stadium a lot. Scored this gem when I went on Prince night in June

Just stay at a different hotel.

I have no problem with American Indian culture, etc. but something like this is ridiculous unless it's just a novelty.
It will either stay in business on it's merit to provide a good product or service or it will not. It's not a novelty if it sells.

Worst thing I ever tried at a restaurant was at Anthony's in West Point. Should I boycott them because they put Barracuda on the menu? What if it had been good... I would have a whole new thing out there to enjoy. One bad meal will never deter me from trying new things.... but I may hit a McDonalds on the way home.

I agree it's ruining everything, like searching for a place to get good food without politics being smeared into your face.

Read the description - the whole thing was written in language that makes sure everyone knows that white men are colonizers and evil. So what FreeDawg did here is help the indigenous restaurant owner with his marketing effort. If there are any evil whities who post on this board, he's doing what the guy wants - making sure they don't set foot into his restaurant.

Well done, FreeDawg. It was nice of you to help the guy get his own words out to more people
Thank you. I'm part Scottish, Irish, and Spanish. My genetic makeup created golf, whiskey, and took over the world. I'm cool with that
You do know that the Spanish are actually Arabs right?

Living in a popular snowbird destination I’ve really had a lot of interaction with our midwestern brethren. The Minnesota snowbirds are without a doubt the worst. Wisconsin people are hit and miss. South Dakota and Iowa folks are good people. They are so far left liberal and entitled that it’s really surprising to me and they are genuinely confused as to why the rest of the country doesn’t agree with them. They’re borderline cultish.
I rather live next to a far left liberal than a far right conservative. I hate Facism and Nazi control over my religion and the hatred of others differences. Why? If Jesus didn't come here to setup a Gov't Religion what makes you think a Human Being can do it successfully.

Once a Gov't gets in control over your religion then MEN will use that control for their own uses. Bible do not kill... Gov't Religion, lets go kill them Muslims before they kill us. Why? OIL money

I have enough points for flight and hotel where it could have been a free trip. I researched best restaurants in downtown Minneapolis and Indingena kept coming up so I checked out menu and website and the about section made me change my mind about the whole trip (along with the news the last 2 years).

WTF is wrong with the people up there? I hope we beat their commie asses so damn bad.... 17 Minnesota

17 Minnesota as a staff, Minneapolis, and as a mother17ing crew.

And if you wanna be down with the Gophers, then 17 you too.

PJ Fleck, 17 you too.

Drake Lindsey, 17 you too. (Take money, take money.)

All y’all Minnesota mother17ers, 17 you, die slow, mother17er.

My Bulldogs make sure all y’all dreams don’t grow.

You mother17ers can’t be us or see us.

We mother17n’ Mississippi State riders, Starkville, ’til we die.

Out here in Mississippi, brother, we warned ya
we’ll bomb on you mother17ers.

We do our job.

Seems like a terrible marketing strategy to keep white men away from your business. I'm a white man. I'm not a colonizer and I'm not evil. What in the hell should anyone have against people like me? If folks are going to categorize me as such then that is the definition of racism. I'm not going to the game, but I'm of Norwegian decent and I have distant relatives in Minnesota. I'm ashamed of what Norway has turned into with the immigration policies and their political views. Minnesota is a microcosm of that, so whether we share blood or not, I hope the Mississippi State Bulldogs beat their yankee, Muslim loving asses Saturday so bad they can't get out of bed on Sunday.

Congrats on admitting you are a complete moron. The far left's ideas and "principles" are their religion. They want absolute government control of every aspect of your life. It is called communism wrapped in a virtue signalling blanket.

I tried kangaroo once at a restaurant outside of Laurel. It was OK, but about as tough as you would imagine kangaroo would be. Wouldn't eat it again, but I'm glad I tried it.

Even if literally every single restaurant in the city fits that description, they're still a capitalist enterprise and by definition not "Communist."
Run by a nonprofit

Being a non-profit(or run by a non-profit) doesnt mean its communist.
Those are 2 very different things.

You said you took accounting at MSU...did you take any econ classes?

I helped establish and run a non-profit for a number of years.
It is a teen mentorship program that costs the kids $0 and there are no employees.

The program partnered with an organization for free space and some infrastructure, and the organization has a seat on the non-profit board.
A majority of required equipment is donated by a company every year, and their owner has a seat on the non-profit boad.
A portion of food/snacks is donated by a few different companies through each season.
All operating expenses come predominantly from individual donations and rounded out with grants and corporate donations.

There is no profit for the non-profit to make.
The program has slowly grown over the years due to donations often slightly exceeding costs, as well as more adult mentors coming into the program to support more teens.

To call any of this 'profit' would be an extremely loose use of the word.

The only reasons non profits dont show a profit is because the administration, presidents, board members etc are paid such huge salaries. Check any non profit charity. If 10% of donations go to whatever their cause is thats higher than most

Jesus said “I come to fulfill the law”. God does not love unconditionally! There are specific conditions to His Love. God is the ultimate Government.
He gave the Laws.
He Established His covenant with His People (Not just Jews by the way)
He will be Judge, Jury, and Executioner.
Jesus is our Attorney before the Judge, The Father.
Better to follow and established set of rules and laws that similarly align with those of God. I’ll take our form of Government over any other human prescribed form.

Is ****** supposed to be sarkasterisks?...thats a lot, if so.

That's a lot of sarkasterisks for a lot of sarcasm.
If your comment is serious...
If the term continues to be misused, then it should continue to be pointed out as being misused.
That's one of the rare times that "not real communism" is actually pointing out somebody using the term incorrectly as opposed to somebody complaining that it is used to refer to communism as it inevitably ends up.

Per google, there are 7 Texas roadhouses in the twin cities metro area…. What more are you looking for?****

Seriously, we got some weak minded people nowadays. I’ve been to Minneapolis and it’s nice as long as it’s not below zero. I promise you’d have a great time. It’s a little sad you’re letting people and a business you’d never associate with keep you from enjoying yourself and visiting somewhere new.

Revenues exceed costs. Sounds a lot like profit. Technically increase in net assets for a non-profit, but it's the same thing. It's not a bad thing, it's a good thing. If you didn't have it, the organization would go bankrupt. Those net assets can only be used for the stated purpose of the organization.

That's a gross exaggeration. Most charities will be closer to 80% program costs and 20% overhead and salaries.
