[h=4]Texas Bowl[/h]Dec. 27, ESPN at 6:45 p.m. ET
Tie-In: Big 12 vs. SEC
Projection: Oklahoma State vs. Mississippi State

If this happens, I think we lose by 14.

A&M will get the Texas Bowl. They ain’t going to Florida for the 4th straight year. Auburn and Tennessee will get the two Florida games.

Auburn may have just given the SEC a fifth NY6 team.

LSU, Georgiaand Alabama will definitely be in the Top 11.
Florida will be in the Top 11 if they win tonight.
Does Auburn jump from 15th to 11th and draw Memphis?

If not, Auburn has the Citrus Bowl.

If so, A&M gets the Citrus Bowl.

Kentucky and Tennessee get the Outback/Gator

We have our choice between Texas, Music City, Belk and Liberty. We will pick the Music City and the other three get no SEC team.

If Kentucky drops down, there is a chance they pick the Music City (although they've been there multiple times since us) and we will get the Liberty against a Big 12 team. If we end up in Nashville, we'll probably play Florida State or Miami. Liberty Bowl opponent wold be Iowa State or Texas.

We don’t have enough teams to fill 4 bowls. Birmingham, Independence, Liberty and probably the Gator will not have an SEC team.

Well, that will be easy for you. Do not go to the game and save lots of time and money and do not watch the game on tv, saving time and lots of aggravation.

We can’t play 4 win teams in a bowl game. We’re getting killed no matter who we play.

Birmingham and Independence aren't even in the conversation.

2 teams, no more than 3 for the G6 Bowls. Liberty, Music City, Gator, Outback, Belk and Texas.

We want Music City. We will get Music City unless Kentucky or Tennessee wants Music City. Then our second choice is Liberty.

IF AUBURN does not end up #11 or higher in the CFP (They are #15), they will go to the Citrus Bowl. But if they do, they will end up in a NY6 game likely against the top Non P5 (currently Memphis)

Word on the street is that Tennessee is lobbying to be the Citrus pick if the SEC gets five in the NY6. The Citrus would have a pick between Tennessee and Texas A&M to go up against what appears to be Minnesota now. Tennessee is going to have a better SEC record than A&M and the same overall record. Tennessee winning 6 of 7 and A&M getting blown out tonight might actually get the Citrus to pick UT over A&M.

If that happens, A&M will have first choice amongst the Group of 6 Bowls. They might pick the Outback, or they might pick the Texas. Kentucky would have the next pick and they want a Florida Bowl. The Outback or Gator would be available. Then we are the final team to pick. We will have our pick between the Music City, Liberty and Belk Bowl. I think the Belk is definitely out - and all reports say that Music City is our first pick and Liberty is our second.

Not exactly the way it works. We would be pushed towards the highest payout bowl by the SEC Office. it would be stupid to take the Gator or the Liberty as they are the lowest payout bowls. Although the Liberty is only $250 k less than Music City, to leave the Music City without an SEC team would be the ultimate Dis to that bowl and city. The Liberty has been without an SEC team on multiple occasions.

Capital 1 is in its own Tier at a $8.2 mil payout—Likely Auburn if not in NY 6

Texas Bowl is next at $6.35 mil —Likely A&M—big crowd
Outback $6.3 —Likely UT will travel well
Belk $5.5 —Likely UK closer than us
Music City $4.5— Likely State should take a nice crowd
Liberty $4.25—no SEC
Gator $3.4—no SEC

If we get 5 teams in NY 6, we can’t fall below Belk or Music City and could bump up to Texas, depending on how they want to place the 7-5 UK and Tenn teams.

Edited to note UT and UK are 7-5 like A&M, instead of 6-6 and correct the payouts as I had last years.

So those 3 will get the higher paying bowls and we will get the next highest. The rest will be without an SEC team

No matter what bowl, no matter how low the tier, the opponent will have a pulse. Our team hasn't fared very well this season against teams with a pulse. Having all the suspended players back admittedly could make a difference there though.

So we really didn’t play Kentucky, Louisiana or Southern MS?

They are all bowling.......

Some of you guys arguments are just flat dumb.

To sit here and say we can only beat 4 win teams is just stupid. But hey, it helps fuel your hate so by all means.....

Crazy to think only 3 teams on our schedule had losing records (Arky, Abilene, & Pississippi)

We aren’t getting to play a G5 team in our bowl game. We could potentially play a Kentucky. Not sure which bowl would make that most likely.

The SEC will have a team in the Gator. The Texas, Belk, or Liberty will be left without an SEC team. Possibly two of them. I think LSU, UGA, Bama, and UF get CFP/NY6 bowls. Auburn to the Citrus, A&M the Outback, UT To the Gator, Kentucky to the Belk, and us to the MCB. The opponent could be an ACC team or B1G according to what the Gator does. If B1G it’ll be Indiana. If ACC it could be one of many: Miami, FSU, UNC, BC, or even Pitt. I’d much rather have an ACC team this year as that league sucks.

I feel like we are Nashville bound since we are the only ones in consideration who actually want to go there.

So you are saying the SEC will punish itself by placing a team in a lower payout bowl to place a team in the Gator $3.5 mil payout as opposed to the Texas $6.35 mil payout or the Belk $5.5 mil payout?

That doesn’t make sense financially. Heck, the Liberty payout is larger than the Gator now.
