I really hope this is wrong.

I called bs on this when it was 1st announced. If iowa wins 7 games they’ll retain baby Kuck. Big Kuck will threaten to retire and make excuses of his derelict progeny’s incompetence and failures. The admin will bend the knee and the beat will go on. Or…

They’ll call his bluff and iowa will have a new HC and staff in 2024. Personally, I don’t hate either of those options.

If Barta was still calling the shots I'd agree with you. If Baby doesn't hit 25 he gone.

My fear is if Ferentz is out Bob Stoops might take the job

Stoops could’ve come out of retirement to be LSU’s, USC’s, Florida’s, FSU’s, Notre Dame’s coach but he passed on all those jobs. Hell he could’ve had his old job at Oklahoma back when Riley bolted for USC. If Stoops passed on all those jobs he’s not going to tarnish his resume by taking over his middling alma and end up being persona non grata like Frost.

If Stoops really wanted to coach again, and at Iowa specifically, he’d would’ve taken one of those high profile jobs, turned them around, then jump to iowa once Kuck retires. IMO Stoops has been out of coaching too long to come back. But as the old saying goes… “never say never” I guess.

Good, I hope it pisses off Kuck and he retires. Cause I think they’ll have trouble attracting a top shelf coach.

I guess I should’ve specified at the FBS/P5 level. From what I understand those XFL jobs are a 3-5 month a year jobs. As we all know P5 coaching gigs are 365 day a year jobs.
