I thought his play was pretty good except when he was shooting. Every time he took a shot, I assumed it was going to be short. But I don't think we win that game if his ankle had kept him on the bench.
Yes, agreed. His defense was solid. He hedged on screens better than I've ever seen him do it. Pick and roll defense has been a nightmare in the last couple years because he couldn't seem to move his feet fast enough to defend without fouling. He would either leave too early or too late, foul, or be out of position. But he looked solid last night on the pick and roll and he looked solid defending the post. He’s visibly developed past the has-no-idea-what-he’s-doing phase, and that’s scary for the rest of college basketball. Makes him a lot more fun to watch.
