It’s pretty obvious that Matt reports on what he read here on occasion - and that’s not a terrible thing, as we have some descent info here. Matt ran with something I posted once, and it turned out to be a great story. I enjoyed it. It was funny however, that he used the term “sources” when he was speaking of info he read here. I don’t mind Mart Jones at all.

That's every news/blog/message board in existence. That's how they've all worked forever. One or two people will actually have the info originally. Everyone else is just reporting on it. And most of the time, they all have the same sources.

Jones does claim to have inside info when it appears it is all based on unreliable sources. He has claimed in the past that something didn't happen because he didn't hear about it and then blast anyone who disagreed.

About Mcdaniels and wenyen then see Matt Jones report on it in the next few days. Now when the poster leaked the text he was given a pretty good lashing, and now everyone acts like it’s just public knowledge. Pretty weird series on UK sports.
So weird. Really.

Matt Jones has been wrong with his information more times than he is right. “Nostradamus” Jones is the same guy who had it on “good authority” that UK was getting Zion and Barrett. LMAO.

When Rupp's Runt posted it on here a few weeks ago, a lot of people acted like they had seen it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jones had known about it and didn't want to spread it to make the kid look bad. Matt a lot of times didn't rush to tell the bad stuff about a player that left.

I think the whole situation looks worse than it is. Gabriel basically telling another hooper "Here's what I didn't like about Kentucky." There's no reason to get mad about that. If you read "it's hard" and you're scared off--I don't want you here. If you read "Cal won't let you drive it if you can't drive it," and choose to go somewhere else--I assume that's a kid that was going to have a hard time doing what's best for the team.

Let me clarify and say there are absolutely times the message board/rest of the internet is ahead of KSR. If you want to know about UK basketball, your order of operations is:

1. Check Rafters (If it's on Twitter, it's probably been posted here by someone).
2. Check Twitter
3. Argue with someone on Rafters about who is going to start
4. Check your fantasy football team
5. KSR

I started reading KSR around the time Cal got here. And there was a time that the information isn't as widely available as it is. With the boom of Twitter/social media, everything is out there. KSR rarely has info that someone else doesn't.

The other thing that has hurt KSR in my eyes is their legitimization. 10 years ago they were reporting UK news "in the most ridiculous manner possible."

We don't really get that as much these days. Matt has claimed on the radio to know things that "it's not the right time to share," or the whole "If you tell everything, people stop giving you info." And, fine. But you're no longer in the mode of "the most ridiculous way possible." And it saddens me that we've arrived at the point that KSR is "mature," because a big part of the allure was that they were regular dudes talking hoops. Now, they're a successful business. And it's changed the operation.

I'm not saying they're bad or failing. I'm sure they're thriving. But it's where your grandfather gets his update after it's been on Twitter/Rafters all day. And it's a very superficial look into things.

I would still like to know how the text got out from McDaniels himself...like who he he send it to for it to get out? The whole situation is beyond bizarre.

That's right. We're a group of fickle Lemmings.

Read the reports, consider the sources, and make up your own mind.

I personally love not only this site, but all sites that give me info/news on the Cats. And that includes MJ.

Supposedly JD's trainer leaked it. The guy that was all over IG and Twitter around his announcement time.

Ryan Lemond gave info once and Matt blasted him, told him that people think of Matt Jones when he says something, Ryan was not only spot on, I don't remember what it was, but Ryan let Matt have it for once, told Matt he was a reporter before KSR. That's where Ryan got his nickname Scoop. I trust Ryan Lemonds info over anyone at KSR

You have to change if you want to grow as a business. Cant fault them for that. Any of us would do the same thing if it meant our business was going to take off and reach the masses. That's just good business. Hard to criticize a company for wanting to expand and grow.

Jones can be a hot head at times and mocks anyone who disagrees with him. It would be very difficult to work with or for him. I use to listen to the show, but I haven’t listened in a long time. I don’t see how Ryan has put up with Jones’ crap over the years.

So info goes downhill from RR to KSR? [roll][roll][roll]

MJ should read the "country music you won't hear on radio" thread in the Paddock because he doesnt know anything about music. Or fishing. Or farming. Or how to change a tire. Orher than that I can tolerate him and listen to the show now and then. I do wish Ryan would punch him in the temple now and then though.

I would have to hear it for myself to believe Ryan would ever disagree with Matt. He is there for one reason and one reason only, To amen whatever Matt espouses. I wish I had a dime for every time Ryan said " I agree with that 100%".
