But I watched it all day today. He went out of his way to paint us in a bad light even though he apparently has been saying the fit wasnt right since Tennessee. Reminds me why I dont like that smarmy pencil necked mfer

Finkelbutt will say anything to make Mississippi State or Ole Miss look bad. We are an irritant to him. He is so far up Saban butt that when Saban bends over it cuts off Finkelbutt airway.

I watched a good bit of that show and did not think “he went out of his way to paint us in a bad light”. He stated he feels MSU ‘s program is better now than the day before and that he has great admiration of Keenum. Regarding Cohen he said he thought they were friends until the interview(last year)in which he felt Cohen gave some strange answers to some of his questions. He was going to have dinner at The Cohen home that night, but it didn’t happen. Finebaum went on to say he understands that an AD will be protective of his hires. He was complimentary of the university and in the end gave credit to Cohen for making the decision he made. Finebaum was not a glowing endorsement of our program but at the same time he did not go out of his way to run us down. He just gave his opinion.

Finshit was awesome in college. I’ll never forget getting off work in college and hearing ole Harvey Updick say he was gonna fudge auburn up. Finshit was ready for everything. Worry about Starkville. Don’t worry about finshit or oxford. Hail State and Aloha

I watched the first cpl hours as well for the first time in years. I lost count how many times he said what we did “so wrong” as if we are holding the recruits and their families hostage at gun point. To stupid and lazy to find out that they will most definitely be released if that’s what they wish. Thankfully that doesn’t seem to be the case.

He just wants the outrage and shock to stir up the imbeciles. And it works. He is essentially the SEC Jerry Springer.

I think the point he was trying to make is why didn’t we make the move in November when there was so much smoke instead of waiting until January. Which is fair. For the reasons given for the firing a series of events well there were several during regular season also. To outsiders it just looks like we signed recruits played a game and then fired the coach. Doesn’t really matter what outsiders think though

That is simply because he wanted us to lose recruits. He hates us so he advocates anything that will hurt the program.

Interesting. So the implication is that Cohen canceled dinner because he didn't like the questions he was asked in the interview? First I've heard of this. If true, sounds like Cohen needs to come to terms with the political/PR components of being an AD.

Prior to his SEC Network gig, Finebaum insulted everyone in the SEC except Bama. He commonly referred to Starkville as Starkghanistan, etc. He's the worst.

Finebaum was all over Bama in the Dubose/Shula era. He and Tubberville were BFFs when Auburn won the the Iron Bowl six years in a row. Finebaum is an equal opportunity **** stirrer if it's good for ratings.

That's the way I saw it too. He started out fairly negative but much more neutral as the afternoon went on. He did say we did the right thing by firing Joe.

Does anyone here think we deserve praise for the way this was handled ? Make a fool of yourself on the national stage and somebody will call you out. This debacle is on us.

Seriously, if we had fired Joe right after winning the Egg Bowl and getting bowl eligible only 2 years into his tenure do you not think we would have gotten just as much negative from the national talking heads? Really unless you are keeping up with the details of what has gone on with the football program the last 2 years, there is really no way to understand the culture decay that has taken place. And we were willing to give Moorhead a chance to see if he could get things turned back on an upward trajectory even during bowl prep but he totally blew that with the post Egg Bowl press conference, QB being put out for the bowl game with a practice fight, multiple players suspended in the bowl game for missing practices and then finally the horrific on field performance at the MCB. We really did everything we could to avoid having to cut Joe loose this quick but he refused or was unable to turn things around. As far as the signees, I'm sure we will release any that want it if they still request that after meeting with the new coach.
