Dinwiddie is working towards building a memorial area at the high school. The central focus will eventually be a massive flagpole flying the US flag. The area will be architecturally designed to accent memorial bricks that will be sold to pay for the project. Currently, we envision a combination of pavers and bricks in an aesthetic setting. Probably with a few memorial benches as well.

My questions are, do any of you have any first hand experience with a project of this type? What turned out great? What would you do different if you could do it over again?

Thank you ahead of time for your input.

The memorial bricks will be on the ground, right?
Our VFW has them on the outside of their bldg.
I think the plan is a patio type setting, but if it’s successful enough over time I envision a wall a couple feet tall surrounding some of the perimeter.
