And I'm not sure I met a more apathetic fan base. But they're on it tonight... Go beavers!

did you try and pump your own gas ?

That would be only once... And I was told to get back in my car, so I never did that again while I was there

I was out there this summer, pulled into a gas station got out and was to the pump, when a guy came up and asked me what I was doing. He then quickly and rudely explained that it was his job, and I better not try to take it from him. I had no idea. The entire state is that way.

Not hard to get an enthusiastic crowd for the no. 1 team in the country when you only need 45k - students.

.....when you don't have silly SEC rules about where students can and can't sit.

was in portland on business a couple of years ago and had the same thing happen. The guy was actually standing there at the pump though, and I said "Oh, that's ok. I can get it." He told me it was the law and that they "don't take kindly to out of town folk" not knowing their quirky laws. I asked him if I could go inside and get a coke or if he had to do that too... Not much of a sense of humor on the ol' pump attendant.

and got some gas, but they were pretty nice about it. I started to pump my own gas, but the gas attendant came up to me and told me "I'll do it for ya!" I looked at him like "What?" Then he explained the law to me. He wasn't rude about it though.

I was in a hurry and trying to get the rental back to the airport. Pulled up into a station, jumped out and started to pump. Guy hollers "hey, you can't do that!"....I didn't know who he was and didn't care. I didn't even bother to look at him..."Watch me!" Got a little dicey from there on out....especially when the cop car pulled up and both got out with hands on their guns and cuffs. I started laughing when I asked if they were going to take me downtown for pumping my own gas. They did NOT laugh. My Mississippi drivers license actually pulled me out of that little scrape. Crack head didn't like the idea of me doing his job, and that was the only way he could show power. Never mind that there were 6 or 7 cars in the station and all were waiting for his stinky *** to get to them.

in the Pacific Northwest. They have a high threshold of tree huggers.

When I was doing my rotation for school in Washington, a guy got arrested for cutting down a tree- in HIS yard.

in Madison, you're going to cause a big *** traffic jam. Especially on Main St.

That said, I always thought it would be hilarious to get a double wide and park it right next door to Madison City Hall. Redneck it up a little bit- six cars in the yard that don't run, random trash in the yard, a kiddie pool, and of course a confederate flag flying. Not to mention some pink falmingos and some tires that are used as lawn ornaments. I would love to sit in the kiddie pool with a mullet wig and some jorts.

I bet Mayor Mary would have me executed at the Madison Christmas Parade right after she personally cuts my testicles off and uses them like fuzzy dice on her rear view mirror.

The roads in Madison are some of the worst roads I have ever driven on. Why can't they fix the roads down there?

in a town more attracted to sad appearances versus reality.....for a perfect example...look at Mayor Mary's face. Is that not a denial of reality and a nod towards make up delusion? Mary is convinced that she lives in a "storybook"...just ask her and she will go into a wide-eyed conniption fit about how it is "HER TOWN!!!!" I was a member of the group against the annexation of our area into Madison City Limits. You would not believe the manipulation and corruption.....i.e.- see the hushed up court case concerning her husband and county commissioner who fleeced a little rich lady out of a lot of land. The ONE huge development out of the whole legal action was that the previously unavailable books of THE CITY OF MADISON were exposed.....and the CITY is BR0KE! All that to say .....the CITY OF MADISON is living a lie....its a thin veneer of culture masking the fact that the money is spent for ribbons, fireworks, and trips to Sweden versus true municipal concerns. Oh yeah, the roads are horrible because of neglect and the high volume of Yazoo Clay. :
