anyone who thinks he has earned the right to be back is crazy. He's had 3 years with basically the same group of guys and that has translated in to 13 wins. At least this time next year we can all hope this crap is over with and we are out looking for a real basketball coach.

I'm over it. I will always pull for State but I have zero faith in his leadership for this program. Close to 4 mil after next year. I would love to perform and cash in like that.

I'll be curious to see what season ticket numbers look like when they don't fire him

We're just delaying the inevitable. And putting us 1 year further behind in the recovery. It's time.

Hiring an unknown assistant from a crappy basketball school is always a good idea**

This. Ray will not do any better next year. Strick needs to stop trying to save face and do the right thing for the program.

If Ray is gone after next year, our program will still be irrelevant for at least the following two. Let that sink in.

I feel like Sword,Ware,Ready and Thomas all deserve at least one year of good coaching, not to mention the fact that it would help a new coach immensely in getting off on the right foot by having some experienced players.

Thanks for nothing SS. Maybe you should pay his salary. I'll bet your seat is about to heat up. I've said it before, when the game is on the line Ray don't what to do.

1. Fire his *** yesterday.

2. We were forced into a corner to hire this slappy 3+ years ago. (seems a lot longer)

3. How can it be worse?

4. See #1

or who was transferring to where and why.....

or that we may be stuck in the NIT with 22 wins.....

or the SOS had to get better in order to get a higher NCAA seed....

or was there value in winning the west?

If I'm SS, I go get eustachy. The guy wins everywhere he goes. He's taken 4 different schools to the dance including a school in this state

I'd be on board with that hire. I know it ended embarrassingly for him at Iowa St., but he's stayed clean and out of trouble for 12 years now. I think he deserves a major college job and it may as well be us.

Like most on this board, I've never coached a game of college basketball. However, as someone whose job is to go into terrible manufacturing situations and get things turn things around, let me just say that the easiest part of a turn around by a wide margin is turning the mess into a stable performer. The real difficulty is then turning a stable performer into a top performer.

I say all this to point out that if our coach is having this much trouble in putting together a team that can simply get to the NIT, my hope for us ever getting back to the NCAA tourney with this staff is slim to none. We're in year 3, yet not even in the "outside looking in" group for the NIT. We probably missed it by 6 wins

Like you said, just delaying the inevitable at this point...

Just wait for some lesser-known teams to get into the Sweet 16

Some upperclassmen-filled squad with a "power conference" transfer or two that can drill some 3's. That team's coach will be the hot name on everybody's list!
