Today 6 teams from Austin played in 6A and 5A regional state semis. Too many teams and too much state to have one championship for each classification so you end up with four regions state championships in 6A and 5A.
Two of the 5A played each other. The rest were against regional teams who had played 3 opponents to get to the semifinals.
Only two lost and one was from the area matchup. Those teams are right next to each other here in Northern Austin.
Two 5A and 2 6A teams play for the state semi championships next week and they all play the same spread styles of offense and have skill players we can use.
Forget defense here though. One of the teams that lost was beaten 77-64.
ETA: I forgot another 5A team that won today so it is three 5A and two 6A teams playing for a state semil title next week.
