I just read that Nebraska has the largest increase (or maybe second largest) improvement of 3 point shooting defense from last year to this year. The team was last in the Big 10 last year and is now first in this category.

Well, I must admit, I've seen them play better...but Roby had NO answer for Cooks at all....

I thought Roby looked a little tired or something. He didn't seem to have the spring in his legs that he normally does. I thought we should have used Duby to match Cook physically for a while. I know he would have been in foul trouble quickly, but at least bang on Cook a little and maybe block a shot.

That could lead to trouble in tonight’s game. Haap is still an incredibly talented player and Nebraska needs to defend him. With the short turnaround, we need to have a good post defensive effort.

Fran should be smiling. USA Today (on-line) reported last week that Fran was given a two-year contract extension in November, with an unreal buy-out. If terminated before July 1, 2018, he would be owed $10.2 million! The buyout declines a little each year through 2023. The contract was negotiated last summer.

The article "Iowa Quietly Extends Fran McCaffery's Contract with Huge Buyout Terms" is dated Jan. 25th.

Roby has been in early foul trouble lately...thought he'd played tentative as to not foul so he could stay on the court.
