I realize the 30-posts-a-day faction around here doesn't care about this, but I heard an interesting stat this morning regarding MLB (that's Major League Baseball for those of you who never leave your bunkers)......in the month of April, there actually were more strikeouts recorded in MLB than hits; and the month of May is evidently tracking in the same way.

I live less than 25 miles from Great American Ball Park.......granted, there isn't much legitimate major league baseball being played there these days......and admittedly, the Reds have about as much impact on me these days as Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell. But that said, even I didn't realize how lousy (statistically, at least) the sport has truly become.

Lousy? The pitching has evolved into a thing of beauty. These guys are monsters! There was a middle reliever for the Cards throwing a buck o five. You must be one of those pansies who like 45-43 football games over the 9-6 variety. On my tombstone I want it written “Defense and Pitching”!!

There are many who will say that the 70-63 victory we had over Baylor in our first Big 12 game was one of the best ever at Mountaineer Field.

Despite winning I walked out of that game disgusted.
