A team coming-in and getting hot on 3s early and staying hot all game was ALWAYS the concern.

this team isn't built for a track-meet. ain't gonna win many (if any) games givin' up 70s

and far too many empty trips down the floor today.

I didn't see Iowa "break" the defense or anything like that... their shooters shot - and we didn't keep-up.

it happens....... damn shame it was at home the day before we coulda been ranked..

but, it happens.

next.

High expectations coming into today's game, and with good reason the way we played this past week. Came out flat, and they were hot - it happens. Still doesn't mean I'm ok with it - wanted more out of us today.

Losing a conference game to Iowa is not shi**ting the bed you cretin.

Sounds like someone needs to chill. 😁

Rutgers was favored by 5 and lost by 11. To me that is s***ing the bed. If your specific definition requires more than a -16 vs the spread you are welcome to your opinion of course, but no need to be insulting.

After all it is what it is. Hopefully now that they have had their letdown game they can get back to making a run at the tournament.

You cant have it both ways (or maybe you can). How can you sleep on Iowa and **** the bed at the same time?

Let’s be honest, any long time Rutgers fan had to assume they would s*** the bed as soon as they started getting noticed. It’s why we’re Rutgers. It would have be a surprise if they didn’t. Que sera, sera.
If you are always waiting for a bad game, you will eventually get it. It’s kind of like the perpetual bears in the stock market.

It’s easier to be totally negative than it is to reason that a bunch of college kids, most of whom have never been on a ranked team, might get caught up in the hype a little after winning 5 in a row, resulting in a loss to a good shooting team that’s won 4 of the last 5 matchups.

The team will be fine. It’s a good January opportunity for them to grow and just focus on winning 1 game at a time.

It's a long season. It's a tough season. We're going to lose games.

Goal IMHO is still 12-8 in conferende, give or take a win.

And who knows maybe we'll come back in this one yet.

I'm ok. Sucks to lose on a Sunday at home. But Iowa was simply lights out and we simply were not at our best. It happens.

Good news is my date today (a newer Rutgers professor) loved the whole experience and was impressed by the team and atmosphere (her first bball game)

This team definitely **** the bed today, but it happens
We’ve had much worse losses the last two years. The criteria for shitting the bed is a much lower bar now. Loosing yo Iowa by 11 isn’t shitting the bed. Remember Lafayette, Minnesota. 35 point loss to Illini to name a few.

I would say the 11 point margin at home is as awful a loss as we've had in conference in a few years. Not a good look at all. We can be pretty good with energy and focus but talent wise we have a ways to go. If we don't want it bad enough we don't have the talent to pull out games like this. That's why Pike needs to reel in guys like D Harper, Griffiths and other 4-5 star kids on a regular basis to be more than a bottom NCAA seed who cant make it the the second weekend of the tourney.
Hell, we've already lost twice at home this year.

Games like this make me bristle even more over the OSU robbery. Every B1G win has to be earned and some nights you just have a bad effort or lights out performance from an opponent like today. Point being we won’t play well enough in all 20 games to earn them all, so the ones you do earn and are stolen from you hurt that much more.

I agree with taking a Chill!

The goal is an NCAA Tournament berth and then torture teams with our trapping defense.

Rutgers scored 65 points in spite of having a rough day offensively.
This point total is normally enough to win most Big Ten games because of our elite defense.

It appears we have some fans who expect us to go undefeated and win a national championship. Every team has bad days. We are a very good team. We can beat anyone and lose to a team with talent when we don’t play well like just about every other team in the country.

Agree...Iowa shot very well. We didn't defend the best and had some scoring issues, but we didn't look outmatched or flat out terrible. Iowa outplayed us.
