I've never understood the talk about him leaving. He has loads of potential but also has a lot of room for improvement.he does not want to go out having played the worst game of his college career.
You know, every year kids make bad decisions to enter. I guess that's the only basis of the worry.I've never understood the talk about him leaving. He has loads of potential but also has a lot of room for improvement.

Definitely agree with you there. Shelton may very well have success but for every Smallwood you have hundreds that flame out quicly. But I think Smallwood leaving last year was also a big shock to everyone. I didn't see him leaving, but he did, and has done rather well for the Eagles this year.

Smoking pot and getting shot affected Steadman just a little. I still think he's got a shot at a solid career if someone will take a chance. Come on Cincinnati. They always seem willing to give a Mountaineer a second chance.I agree. I look at some of these past WR greats for WVU who had tremendous careers at WVU, and that didn't mean NFL stardom:
1. Shawn Foreman
2. David Saunders
3. Stedman Bailey
Those are just three that come to my mind quickly. They were great (my opinion). And only Bailey got a true sniff at the NFL and that was as a #4 WR for the Rams.
I think if the NFL tells Gibson he's a top 3 round WR, then he should go. But anything other than that, he could benefit from coming back another year and getting better as a WR, especially over the middle.
But I can't blame a person for leaving if they think they have a shot at making some real $$$. None of us would turn down that opportunity.
Nothing here to disagree with.I've never understood the talk about him leaving. He has loads of potential but also has a lot of room for improvement.
