It's not a theory, its just my experience. It goes out all the time where I live (Norman, OK), and it never did when I lived in big cities (I've lived in Washington D.C., Orlando, Atlanta, Tampa, etc.).

I also lived in Waco, Texas for a couple of years, and it went out all the time, and it goes out all the time for my family that lives outside of Danville, KY

Also, you can use your Sling TV username/password to log into WatchESPN so you can watch the SEC Network+ (Plus) games. SEC Network+ games are internet only

Roku would be the way to go, but you can also go with a $35 chromecast. With a Chromecast, you use the Sling TV or WatchESPN app on aSmart Phone/Tablet, then hit the Cast button in the app. Works really well.

I have directv and it goes out every time it rains , goes out on really cloudy days also . Sick of signal lost 771 , I'm bailing as soon as my contracts up in a month . Other than losing your service on non sunny days directv is great , they should call it Sunnytv . I had time warner for 15 years and it was only out once that I can remember .

I used to have TDS in my neighborhood for phone and internet, but not cable. Unfortunately, their DSL service started off great and deteriorated to the point where it was virtually unusable.

I actually like SEC TV. Get to see a lot SEC games I didn't otherwise get to see. Comes down to what your provider supports, I guess.

I've heard that ROKU box can be used to access SEC TV as well. Haven't tried it myself.

Have you had them align your dish recently? My experience has been that it's much more finicky about weather if it's not well-aligned. Just a suggestion.

It has always went out and they want 75$ to align it , sorry but if he couldn't get it ligned up the first time why would I pay him to misalign it again . As my contracts coming to an end I have realigned it myself a couple of times to get certain channels in . I think it has to do with the individual dishes , everybody can buy the same car and some will be lemons .

Then your dish isn't setup correctly. Mine only goes out during heavy rain or bad storm which at that point i either switch to an antenna or watch something from the dvr. It doesn't matter who you go with. There's no perfect solution. They all have their pros and cons.

I'm not the one you quoted but in your first post you did say that you did not want Directv because it was too expensive. and then when I gave you a solution to it being too expensive you started complaining about the weather. now I know that you're not one to come on in here and complain all the time but not sure what it is that you want. people have talked about 500 different ways to watch at UK game you need to pick one and be happy with it. sorry man, but its not even the first game yet and people are already bitching about SEC network. I swear these first world problems are really something

True. When I moved to my new house in '08, the alignment was much better than at my previous house. You're right though...you shouldn't have to pay them to fix the sh1tty job they did the first time. Don't blame you.

I guess I wasn't being clear exactly, but it's not that Direct TV is too expensive (per say), but it's too expensive for how much it cuts out in my area. It's almost twice what I'm paying now, and it would work half the time, can't really justify that.

I'm going to look into the Sling TV option, because I've heard good things and it sounds like it would have everything I needed

I have had Direct TV for a very long time and lived on the Oregon Coast for many years (yeah, we get a few storms out there, ya think) and now live in Lexington where storms definitely occur with frequency. Sure, I lose signal sometimes for brief times but, overall, I would never go to cable VS satellite, not sure why the OP is so reluctant. And, like I said, I have been in areas where rainstorms are a way of life.

Like I said, I really just think it's my area. It was fine for me in Tampa, and it rains more in Tampa than Seattle.

But here, every time it rains, it's goneeeeee

Dude chill, she's awesome and I love her, 10 years happily married....Everybody has stuff they complain about.

Like me complaining about this, for instance.

Some people's wives complain about the dishes, some husbands complain about the curtains, that's just one of her pet peeves, just like I'm sure you have 100 of, just like the rest of us.

So can you relax and not talk about people like that, please?

I run BWO's stream from my Iphone to my TV via an ap on my $40 Amazon Firestick. It works great.

Is it pure 1080p HD quality? No. But, it's good enough, especially for $0 and the piece of mind that I'm no longer making a rich company richer by overpaying for inferior service.

Tampa, I'm not a dude. I don't see any reason to complain about streaming a basketball game that isn't in HD that is only going to last for 2 hours. If you are going to complain about something it should be something important. HD doesn't fall in that category. To me that isn't complaining that is bitching.

This might not apply to the op, but should be noted that if you have time warner and an xbox 360, you should be able to watch the sec network on the twc app. The games look quite nice in digital. May not be a perfect solution, but it beats the crap out of watching it in standard definition.

Do you guys use Android/ios? Because that ap allows you to cast.. But the pc one doesn't.

I live in Gracey,Ky(pop. under 1k) Much smaller than Norman,Ok, which is over 100k people. The size of the city has absolutely nothing to do with a signal you are receiving from a satellite in orbit. If the signal is going out consistently, your installer sucks.

The fact is, Direct TV sucks in Norman.

The area you're has nothing to do with it. The signal is coming from outer space. Bad signal = bad install. That's the why. End of story.
